1. International Selection of the École Normale Supérieure:

The ENS selects about thirty of the most qualified international students in the humanities or sciences to enroll in a two- or three-year program through an international selection process once a year. For a period of two to three years, they get about one thousand euros every month. Every year, about thirty scholarships for international students are awarded.

  • Scholarship amount and duration: a room on one of the ENS campuses and a grant of one thousand euros per month for three years.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must not be older than 26 years old (i.e., they cannot be older than 26).
  • Candidates cannot have applied to the International Selection before.
  • During the academic year of the selection (1 September–31 August) or the previous academic year (1 September–31 August), candidates may not have lived in France for more than 10 months.
  • During the previous calendar year, applicants must have finished at least one year of undergraduate studies at a foreign university (outside of France).
  • By September 1st of the year following acceptance, candidates must have finished at least two years of undergraduate studies at a foreign university (not in France).
  • The Director of ENS may, as an exception, accept an application from a candidate whose academic background is unusual and who does not reside in France.

2. ENS de Lyon Ampere Excellence Scholarships:

Outstanding international students enrolled in the Master’s programs in the Human and Social Sciences, the Arts, and the Exact Sciences at ENS de Lyon and its partners are eligible to apply for the Ampere Scholarships of Excellence (excluding Professional Masters in Teaching). For 12 months, the scholarship offers €1000 per month; it is renewable under specific circumstances.

  • Target audience: international students.
  • Scholarship duration and value: For a year, the monthly award is €1,000. If the candidate is chosen by the master’s program director and the first year of the program is approved, it is renewable in the second year.

Qualifications:

Foreign nationals who were born on or after January 1, 1997, are eligible to apply. (up to 26 years old).

Applicants must provide proof of obtaining a license (equivalent to 180 ECTS European credits) or a diploma or level of equivalent standing to be admitted to the Master’s program.

Scholarships at Emile Boutmy University of Sciences Po:

Sciences Po University established the Emile Boutmy Scholarships, which bear the name of the college’s founder, to entice the most talented international applicants who do not reside in the European Union. For two years of postgraduate study, the rewards vary from €5,000 to €10,000; for three years of undergraduate studies, they range from €3,000 to €12,300.

  • Target audience: International students outside of the European Union
  • Level of study: Mastery Level
  • Scholarship duration, value, and benefits: For three years of undergraduate studies, the Emile Boutmy Undergraduate Program costs between €3,600 and €13,190.

The Emile Boutmy Master’s Curriculum is a two-year Master’s degree program that partially covers the cost of tuition with an award of €12,200 per year.

Qualifications:

Students who have been accepted into an undergraduate or graduate program and are first-time applicants from non-EU nations whose households do not submit taxes in the EU are eligible.
