About University of Waterloo Scholarships
With scholarships, we can acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments! If you’re a first-time student starting a full-time first year of college or university, you may be eligible for entrance scholarships.
The main criteria used to award scholarships are academic and personal achievement. Another kind of help is bursaries, which are given out according to financial necessity.
Mid-May is when we typically distribute scholarships once we get the most recent grades from high schools in Ontario. Starting in the middle of May, information will be displayed on your Waterloo Quest account.

Why study at the University of Waterloo?
First and foremost, congratulations if that sums up your current circumstances! Being extended an offer is a great achievement, and you ought to feel pleased of yourself. Secondly, don’t worry—I’m available to assist!
Sometimes it’s difficult to make the final decision, even when you believe you know where you want to go. Here are the top five reasons why Waterloo outperforms its rivals.
It’s all about experience
It’s critical to consider your future goals when selecting the ideal university. At Waterloo, you can get experience that is related to your desired field of study.
Waterloo offers a plethora of opportunities for students to pursue their passions, including the largest co-op program in North America, international exchanges, clubs, credential programs, lab work, field studies, and hackathons.
If you’re enrolled in Waterloo’s co-op program, you can graduate with up to 24 months of paid work experience. You’ll be ready to enter the workforce with a strong resume, interview skills, and self-assurance.
Also, you will have had the opportunity to establish enduring relationships with coworkers and employers, which will be beneficial when you begin your job search.
Even the most structured programs can be customized
There are almost always options to specialize and improve your classroom instruction. You may make sure you’re getting the most out of your education by doing some prior preparation and study before deciding on a minor, option, specialization, or certificate.
It’s untrue, despite what you may have heard, that certain programs forbid you from customizing your degree. Although it’s not always easy and you might feel overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge, it is possible. Once you arrive, you can get assistance from our academic advisors. For now, though, you don’t have to know exactly where you’re going.
I don’t have to make any compromises because I can add a minor to my arts degree. I can pursue my interests in two subjects and still graduate in the same amount of time. Use it when you arrive at school; it’s a perfect circumstance!
50+ clubs and a city made for students
Let me dispel the myth that studying is all we do at Waterloo. False. In addition to working hard, we play hard.
It won’t be enjoyable to devote four or five years of your life to your studies—at least, it won’t be as enjoyable as it could be. Thus, ensure that there are engaging groups and events that you may take part in.
In addition to the resident council and student groups, Waterloo boasts over 250 student clubs and 30 sports leagues. There must be something that piques your attention!
