The KAIST College of Business School Scholarships for the 2024–2025 academic year in South Korea are open to students pursuing Masters level programs at KAIST. The scholarships are fully funded.

The KOICA-KAIST Master’s Degree Program in Social Economy (IMPACT MBA) is a specialized program that focuses on social economy and is offered by KOICA and KAIST.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) have a mission to support talented individuals from developing countries. They are inviting capable students from these countries to provide them with professional and systematic knowledge. This initiative aims to cultivate future leaders who will contribute to the development of their home countries.

KAIST has gained significant expertise through its participation in the KOICA initiative. The KOICA-KAIST Master’s Degree Program in Finance has trained more than 90 finance professionals from 2012 to 2019, who have made significant contributions to the development of their respective nations’ financial and capital markets.

About KOICA-KAIST Master’s Degree program

The KOICA-KAIST Master’s Degree program in Social Economy, which was initiated in 2019, annually selects 15 students from developing countries who are actively involved in the social economy or a related field in their respective countries. The program has three objectives: to develop knowledgeable specialists in the social economy, to foster future pro-Koreans who will have significant roles in Korea’s ties with their respective nations, and to grow insightful professionals in the field.

The program provides an educational curriculum consisting of:

  • Presentations on topics related to social economy, management, and sustainable development.
  • Additional activities outside of the regular curriculum, such as tours to various locations and participation in educational seminars,.

Academic Qualification Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The overall number of participants is 25, as stated in the KOICA-KAIST Program Information 2023.

  • Type 1: Government officials or personnel from public institutions with a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Type 2: Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the social economy-related field (NGO, agency, research institution, foundation, social entrepreneurs). Only a maximum of 3 participants are allowed.

* Professionals from economics, education, social welfare, and industry with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities are preferred.

Credit prerequisites

Students must earn a total of 48 credits and fulfill the following criteria to graduate:

  • Students have the option to enroll in a maximum of 18 credits every semester.
  • A communication system consisting of a set of sounds, gestures, or written symbols used by a community of people to express thoughts, feelings, and ideas.

Accommodation

The on-campus dormitory of KAIST College of Business is specifically intended to accommodate two people in each room. Every individual is allocated a desk, a bed, and a wardrobe.
