About Campbell University Scholarships

Campbell has a long history of using the Scott-Ellis Scholarship program to recognize academic achievement. International and domestic freshman students who show exceptional academic abilities are rewarded for their diligence.

Concerning Campbell University

Driven by a greater purpose, we offer a life-changing educational program that readies students for servant leadership and gives them the tools and routines they need to positively impact others.

The first day of courses at the school he created, Buies Creek Academy was held on January 5, 1887, in a small church in Buies Creek, North Carolina. The institution was founded by 26-year-old Baptist pastor James Archibald Campbell. There were ninety-two pupils by the end of the first term.

Buies Creek Academy changed its name to Campbell Junior College in 1926, Campbell College in 1961, and Campbell University in 1979 over the years. The institution has stuck to its original goals of serving North Carolina’s most urgent needs and preparing men and women for Christian service globally.

All of our activities, projects, and goals have arisen out of our unwavering dedication to serving others for the benefit of our neighborhood, country, and the entire world since our founding in 1887.

God’s love demands that we be there for our students as they explore their identities and the roles that God has for them. We aim to create space for students to explore their faith in a community that will challenge and embrace them because we are committed to engaging both the heart and the mind. We think that the collegiate experience depends on faith formation and that this activity is important.

Scholarship Requirements and Benefits

Although there are no predetermined standards, previous recipients have been in the top 30% of applications.

Campbell has a long history of recognizing and rewarding academic achievement via the Scott-Ellis Scholarship. Undergraduates enrolled full-time who exhibit exceptional academic aptitude are rewarded for their diligence. When you apply for admission to Campbell University’s main campus, the Undergraduate Admissions Office will automatically determine your eligibility for merit-based scholarships.

Departmental Endowed Scholarships

Campbell University is appreciative of the annual financial support provided to students via our Endowment Scholarship Program. The kind supporters of the university have contributed over $54 million to our private scholarship endowment fund, enabling Campbell students to receive a Christian education. Over 1,600 students get endowment scholarships annually.
