Eligibility Requirements for University of Manchester Scholarships
There are multiple methods via which you might become a member of the Honors Program at Manchester University:
1. You may receive an invitation to apply.
- Prospective students who submit a fully completed application for admission by May 1 and are granted a Presidential or Dean’s Scholarship will get an invitation to apply to the Honors Program.
2. Students who are currently enrolled or planning to transfer to Manchester University must:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Fill out the online application for the Honors Program.
- Submit the Faculty Recommendation to the Honors Director, Tim McKenna-Buchanan. The Faculty Recommendation Form for the Honors Program is required to apply for the Multicultural Excellence in Leadership Scholarship, which provides coverage for tuition, fees, as well as room and board expenses.

The University of Manchester Scholarships are categorized into many types.
1. Prestigious Scholarship
A single Honors Scholarship is granted, which fully covers the expenses of tuition, fees, lodging, and board annually, for a maximum duration of four years. The Honors Scholarship supersedes the Presidential Scholarship. To be considered an Honors Scholar, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 or higher, remain actively involved in the Honors Program, and complete the Honors Program with Honors & Achievement upon graduation.
2. The Trustee Scholarship is a prestigious academic award.
The top five alternates for the Honors Scholarship are granted Five Trustee Scholarships, which amount to a maximum of $24,000 per year for a duration of up to four years. The Trustee Scholarship serves as a replacement for the Presidential Scholarship. Trustee Scholars are required to maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5, remain actively involved in the Honors Program, and complete the Honors Program with Honors distinction upon graduation.
3. The Multicultural Excellence in Leadership Scholarship
- The Scholarship includes the cost of tuition, and fees, as well as accommodation and board.

Instructions for applying for the University of Manchester Scholarships
If you are a student who is pursuing their initial Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, you will need to utilize the Undergraduate Student Application. Please be aware that, in addition to your application, there is one supplementary document that is necessary to finalize the application process:
Your official high school transcript(s) – Please ensure that you formally request your school to send an official transcript straight to our office. They can be transmitted through electronic platforms such as Parchment or Naviance, or email to admitinfo@manchester.edu.
If you have previously enrolled in a college and desire to pursue further education at Manchester University to earn an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, you will need to complete the Transfer Student Application.
