Job Description.

  • Department: The Human Resources Department
  • Job Location: Kwahu, Eastern Region.
  • Direct Report to: the Human Resources and Administrative Manager.

Job Summary

The Assistant Human Resource Manager at Rock City Hotel will be responsible for supporting the hotel’s entire human resources functions. This position demands a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a solid awareness of HR policies and processes. The Assistant HR Manager will work closely with the HR Manager to ensure that HR programs, policies, and initiatives are effectively implemented while also building a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment process, which includes job advertisements, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new workers to ensure a smooth transfer to the organization.
  • Respond to employee requests and concerns, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist in resolving workplace problems while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and corporate rules.
  • Assist in the creation, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate employee training and development efforts.
  • Identify training needs and work with the HR manager to implement focused training solutions.
  • Support the performance management process, which includes goal formulation, reviews, and feedback sessions.
  • Help to find opportunities for staff growth and development.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, which include health insurance, retirement plans, and other bonuses.
  • Assist employees with benefit inquiries and maintain correct record-keeping.
  • Maintain accurate and current employee records and HR databases.
  • Create reports and analytics to aid HR decision-making.
  • Collaborate on projects to increase employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Organize and attend staff gatherings and recognition programs.

Required Skill or Experience

  • Human Resource Master’s Degree.
  • Professional certification in human resources is beneficial.
  • Proven expertise in human resources roles, with an emphasis on HR operations.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organization and communication abilities.
  • Ability to keep confidential and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficient in HRIS (Human Resource Information System) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience (including managerial positions).
  • Experience with the hotel industry.
  • Experience with talent management and succession planning.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
