Rock City Hotel, a prestigious hospitality business, is looking for an experienced and innovative IT Manager to oversee our information technology infrastructure. The IT Manager will be critical in ensuring the efficiency, security, and alignment of our IT systems with Rock City Hotel’s business objectives.

Technical Knowledge/Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for Rock City Hotel.
• Ensure system and network availability, security, and performance.
• Create and implement hospitality-specific IT security rules and procedures.
• Ensure that all necessary rules and industry standards are followed.
• Manage the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of software and hardware systems adapted to the demands of the hotel.
• To improve operational efficiency, evaluate and recommend new technology.
• Manage the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to support the operations of Rock City Hotel.
• Troubleshoot and address network issues as soon as possible.
• Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of guest and operational data by supervising data backup and recovery processes.
• Put in place safeguards to protect against data breaches.
• Provide end-user technical help, addressing hardware and software issues efficiently.
• Hold training courses for hotel employees to improve their IT literacy.

• Develop and implement IT strategies that are in line with the business goals and guest experience objectives of Rock City Hotel.
• Work with hotel management to contribute to the broader organizational plan.
• Lead and motivate a high-performing IT team while encouraging a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Ascertain that the IT crew is well-equipped to meet the hotel’s technology requirements.
• Develop and manage the Rock City Hotel’s IT budget, ensuring that technological investments are cost-effective.
• Allocate resources wisely to satisfy project and operational needs.
• Negotiate contracts with IT vendors and guarantee service delivery fits the specialized needs of the hospitality industry.
• Vendors should be evaluated and chosen based on their performance and cost-effectiveness.

Personal Competences and Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical parties, including hotel management and workers.
• Translate technical concepts into terms that are understandable to a wide range of audiences.
• Analyze complicated IT issues and give effective solutions while knowing the unique challenges of the hotel business.
• Proactively identify possible issues and put preventative steps in place to maintain uninterrupted guest service.
• Keep up-to-date on industry trends and emerging innovations in the hospitality sector.
• Adapt IT strategies to meet Rock City Hotel’s changing technological needs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform any additional duties that may be assigned by Rock City Hotel.

Required Qualifications or Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or applicable certifications (such as CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft) are preferred.
• Proven expertise in IT management, ideally in the hospitality business, with a minimum of [12] years in a similar job.
• Expertise in hardware, software, networking, and information systems. Knowledge of hotel-specific technologies and property management systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to effectively address and resolve IT challenges.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and prior experience implementing steps to protect the hotel’s data and systems are required.
• Capability to give excellent technical support to hotel employees, fix hardware and software issues, and lead training sessions.
• Worked with other departments to identify and handle technology issues.
• Willingness to learn about new technologies and recommend modifications or improvements to the hotel’s IT system.
• Readiness to adapt to the dynamic IT requirements of a busy hospitality environment, including irregular hours and, if necessary, on-call help.
• Professionalism, ethics, and a dedication to upholding Rock City’s principles are required.
