How to get Vodafone 4G Service & Settings in Ghana
4G service is the fourth generation of advanced mobile technology that supersedes the third (3G) and second generation (2G). It provides faster speeds and a seamless internet experience. Vodafone Ghana got the 4G license from the National Communications Authority (NCA), in 2018.
The NCA gave the telecommunications company one slot of the 2x5MHz frequency spectrum in the 800MHz band for mobile services. To know if your Sim is a 4G enabled sim, kindly dial *700# and follow the prompts, that is;
- Dial *700# on your Vodafone handset
- Select option 6 (Check 4G Status)
- Select option 1 (Check 4G Phone or SIM Readiness).
- Alternatively, you can just dial *700*6*1# and you will instantly receive the prompt to know your status.
- You will receive a prompt that gives you the status of your phone and SIM Card. You can also check through the My Vodafone App. To know if your location is within Vodafone 4G coverage areas, kindly dial *700# and follow the prompts. You can also check through the My Vodafone App or visit the Website; https://vodafone.com.gh/personal/4g/
How can I check if my phone is 4G enabled?
To know if your device is a 4G enabled device, kindly dial *700# and follow the prompts. You can also check in network settings on your phone to determine if your phone is 4G/ LTE capable or adaptable. You can follow the steps below to configure your device:
For Android Devices (Google Operating System):
- Go to “Settings”
- Select “Wireless and Networks” or “Connections”
- Then select “Mobile Network”
- Opt for “4G/3G/2G auto” or “GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto”
- Select “4G or LTE”
For iOS devices:
- Go to “Settings”
- Select “Cellular”
- Then select “Voice & Data”
- Opt for “LTE, 3G& 2G”
- Select “LTE”
