Having to deal with period cramps every month can be frustrating. Fortunately, there are remedies that can help relieve period cramps. These remedies are however not absolute but offer temporary relief to mild period pains.

One way to ease your pain is by drinking more water, this may sound strange, but drinking more water causes your body to reduce painful bloating during your period. In addition to the above, you can eat anti-inflammatory foods such as berries, pineapples, tomatoes, and ginger. These foods help in your blood flow and relax the muscles.  They taste great in addition.

Further, you can exercise. This may sound odd,  but the last thing that comes to mind when you are in pain or discomfort is exercising. When you exercise you release a hormone called endorphins,  this hormone makes you happy, and this relaxes your muscles. Taking a light walk or doing some yoga poses will go a great way to relieve you of muscle contraction.

Again, you can apply heat. Heat is said to improve blood flow and relieve tension. You can apply heat by using a heating pad, taking a warm bath, or using a warm towel on your abdomen.
