Role Title: Administrative Assistant

Brief Description of the Project:
Agribusiness Facility for Africa (ABF)- The Agribusiness Facility for Africa (ABF) regional project assists development cooperation programs, firms, and institutions in the introduction and execution of broad-based agribusiness training for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
ABF executes component 1 of an EU framework program in collaboration with the GIZ project MOVE-ComCashew. In order to attract investment, this collaboration intends to strengthen and expand the capacities of players along the agricultural value chains of cashew, cocoa, maize, and livestock (cattle, sheep, and goats) in 78 African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) nations. Currently, project offices are located in Germany, Côte d’Ivoire, and South Africa.
Role Purpose:
• The administrative assistant will largely be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the ABF project office, including satisfying administrative demands and ensuring basic financial management is effective and efficient with all stakeholders.
Tasks:
- Meetings and events require organizational assistance.
- In charge of the project’s modest procurement.
- Assures that the department’s services are delivered correctly and in compliance with GIZ financial management and accounting processes.
- Assists with project travel requests and travel claims.
- Photocopies and scans papers as needed; manages knowledge of project office documents (stores in DMS, OneDrive, etc.).
- General administration and organizational process maintenance in the project office.
- Performs other tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A certificate/diploma or comparable qualification in accounting from a commercial academy.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in a comparable job is required.
- Thorough understanding of accounting software.
- Working knowledge of ICT technology and computer applications (for example, Microsoft Office).
- Excellent command of the English language; French and German are a plus.
- Willingness to upskill as needed by the duties at hand – matching steps have been agreed upon with management.
- Ability to arrange workload and deliver under time constraints.
- Attention to detail.
