Job Title: Supervisor of Sponsor Donor Support
This supervisor provides tactical oversight to the sponsor-donor support team in order to administer processes and activities related to the sponsor-donor relationship. She or he is in charge of processing child sponsorship, child survival, leadership development, and other important field program communication materials. The major responsibility of this role is to supervise allocated support and/or paraprofessional employees on a daily basis.
This includes hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees, as well as mentoring, performance management, assigning, checking, and approving work to fulfill particular goals. The incumbent will ensure that department responsibilities are completed in accordance with established processes, organizational strategy, and department norms, and within the approved budget.
Responsibilities
- Keeps a close relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a continuous witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a gracious, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people both inside and outside of Compassion, and faithfully prays for Compassion’s ministry.
- Acts as an advocate to increase awareness of children’s issues. Recognizes Christ’s mission to safeguard children.
- Commits to and prioritizes child protection issues in all ministry decision-making, tasks, and activities. Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of
- Conduct requires all employees to follow all behavioral expectations.
- Reports any concerns about child abuse, neglect, or exploitation through Compassion’s internal reporting process and supports proper responses to incidents if they occur.
- Direct reports receive leadership and development.
- Works with staff to establish a professional growth environment that is consistent with Compassion’s plans and objectives. To successfully match departmental resources and priorities across Compassion, consult with peer management and senior leaders.
- Contributes to or creates and manages the annual budget and departmental spending, assuring accountability for on-time completion of deliverables based on department objectives, SLAs, and other Compassion requirements, and according to regulatory and board rules.
- Selects, manages, and develops assigned employees by setting goals and objectives, coaching and supervising performance, and conducting annual reviews. Encourages ongoing learning and growth in order to improve individual performance and organizational competence.

- Monitors document quality and orders fixes to entry mistakes in the database for dispatching.
- Supervises the creation, organization, recording, and tracking of information and correspondence documents for children, mother-child units, and students.
- Faith has an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Culture is responsible for supporting, upholding, and acting in the basic “Cultural Behaviors” of Compassion in all internal and external communication and relationships.
Education and Experience Required
- A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required.
Experience
Relevant employment experience in this or a similar field.
Certifications and licenses
- Certification in a related field from a nationally or internationally recognized organization.
- Equivalent education, training, and/or certification may be substituted for the above-mentioned experience and education.
