African countries with good water flow
Water is an important aspect of our everyday life. This is because water sustains all living things and our survival depends on it. The quality of water entails the physical, chemical, and biological condition of water, with respect to its use, such as drinking, bathing, domestic chores, or any other uses.
One goal of the World Health Organisation is to achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all by 2030.
In Africa, the continent has been endowed with a lot of water resources that are not limited to lakes, rivers, and streams. However, some human activities have degraded the quality of water that flows through the pipes of the continent. This article details African countries with good and clean water flow.
1 . EGYPT
The Egyptian government has made strides to provide a better water network to its citizen. About 97% of the population has access to water on a daily basis.
2 . SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa is one of the fortunate African countries that have access to clean water from well-managed sources. About 93% of its population has access to water every time. In South Africa the government has made plans to ensure that there is no water deficit in the country, therefore, the citizens have been conscientious in conserving water.
3 . BOTSWANA
In Botswana, about 95.8% of its urban population have access to water and 84% of those in the rural area have access to portable drinking water. The provision of water has changed the quality of life of its citizens. The country recognizes access to water as a human right hence it has taken measures to ensure that health officers take all measures in treating water for the people to have access to water.
4 . GABON
90% of the population has access to good and treated water. The quality of water however varied from one region to the other. Most homes or properties have piped water from clean sources flowing through their taps.
5 . MAURITIUS
It is an African country that has 100% of its population has access to water. Although everyone has access to safe water, it cannot measure up to an international standard.
