Ghana is the second most peaceful country after Mauritius in Africa. The country is ranked 38 in the world as the most peaceful country. Ghana has been able to enjoy its peace because there has not been any disruption in the political stability of the country. Ghana is made up of people from different backgrounds, who are affiliated with different political parties or religious bodies who have co-existed with each other by living in peace and togetherness. Since the country gained independence, there has never been bloodshed in the country
3 . BOTSWANA- Gaborone
Botswana is also one of the most peaceful countries to live in. The main reason for the country is the political stability they enjoy. The country has practiced a multiparty democracy since it gained independence. Another factor that accounts for the peace is that there has not been any societal change or a change in the colonial structures that existed before.
4 . SIERRA LEONE- Freetown
This country use to be a war zone between 1991 to 2002. The war between these periods left a lot of people dead and some disabled. It took the British Army and the United Nation to intervene before the country experienced peace again. Now the country is ranked the fourth in Africa and the 46th globally.
5 . GAMBIA- Banjul
In 2017, the country Gambia was going through a conflict that weakened the stability of the country. The president by then-President Yahya Jammeh refused to step down despite losing in an election although he had served for a long term. However, the country has transitioned peacefully to democracy.
