Africa has universities in serval countries that have gained recognition globally and on the continent. These countries with these universities include South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, as well as Ethiopia. Not only do these countries have great universities but also they have low fees rate. These universities offer programs in different fields and disciplines. One of the biggest advantages of studying in Africa is the low cost of living. Some of these universities with low fees include;

1 . Firstly, NELSON MANDELA METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY

The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University is one of the best and cheapest universities for international students. The tuition fees vary depending on the program and level of study. First-year international students will pay R19,000 ($1418) as tuition fee, then R15,000 ($1119) for subsequent years. On average, international students pay between R3,000 ($224) to R47,000 ($3507) for undergraduate programs. Also, the university charges R500 as an application fee.

2 . UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN is another University

The University of Cape Town aside being one of the oldest institutions on the continent. It was founded in 1929 and is located on the slopes of Table Mountain. It has a total student enrolment of 30,000 with 4,000 being international students. The university has both undergraduate, postgraduate, as well as graduate programs. Hence, there are faculties of commerce, engineering, built environment, health sciences, Law, and Sciences.

3 . Thirdly, UNIVERSITY OF WITWATERSRAND(Wits)

This University is ranked in the top 400 best universities in the world. It is located in South Africa and has 5 campuses in Johannesburg. There are over 30,000 students with 2,500 accounting for international students.

Their faculties include Business Commerce, Law, and Management, Health Sciences, Engineering, and Built Environment. These are but a few of the courses for programs they offer.

4 . Also, UNIVERSITY OF FORT HARE

International students who want to study at the University of Fort Hare have to pay between R26,000 ($1940) and 45,000 ($3358) as tuition fees for undergraduate programs. Students also need to pay an application fee of R425 ($32) and the repatriation fee of R500 ($37).

Another thing is, that you will also need to pay the residence fees which are in the range of R14,500 ($1082) and R25,000 ($1865).

5 . Lastly, RHODES UNIVERSITY

This is one of the oldest universities in Africa. Tuition fees for international students range from R29,200 ($2.174) to R50,700 ($3.775) for undergraduate programmes. What is more is, students are also expected to pay a registration fee of R4,400 ($328) as well as residence fees which range from R51,900 ($3.864) to R54,500 ($4.058).
