Academic prerequisites
You must select your desired school and courses as part of the application process for the New Zealand Scholarships. Until they receive notification that they are a recommended candidate for a scholarship, candidates for scholarships are not required to apply for admission to their desired educational institution and courses.
Nonetheless, candidates for scholarships must confirm that they will probably be able to fulfill the minimal academic standards and the minimal proficiency in English needed for their programs. Before you apply for a scholarship, you should verify the minimum entrance requirements on the website of your preferred educational school, since they set the prerequisites for admission to the course.
Applicants seeking PhD scholarships should start looking for and emailing qualified PhD supervisors at universities in New Zealand as early as possible. Applicants for PhD scholarships who advance to the interview stage must show during the interview that they have either found a supervisor or are actively pursuing one.
