One of the three first national institutions in China, the Western Learning School of Shanxi Grand Academy (1902), is where Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) got its start. Taiyuan University of Technology has made significant scientific advancements in research and maintains ties to the community’s growth.  The advancement of technological research and development has been applied to further study at Taiyuan University of Technology.

Twice, Taiyuan University of Technology has served as the lead scientific team for major national basic research initiatives (973 Project).  Additionally, it has worked on 945 projects of different kinds, including the national sci-tech key project, the National Exceptional Young Foundation project, the national new high-tech development project, and the “863 Project.”  TYUT currently consists of four campuses: Yingxi, Huyu, Bailing, and Mingxiang. These campuses span 3,201 mu.

At the moment, Taiyuan University of Technology provides 76 undergraduate programs, 126 graduate programs, and 49 doctorate degrees. It also includes 22 colleges and departments. International students are eligible for the TYUST Scholarship, which pays for all program-long tuition and living expenses. The scholarship for doctorate students has a three-year term with a one-year extension option.

TYUST Scholarship for Outstanding Masters and Doctoral Students:

  • For PhD candidates: CNY 20,000 per year per individual.
  • For Master’s students: CNY 15,000 annually per individual.
  • The duration of this scholarship is three years, renewable for a further year for doctorate students, and it is awarded every month.

What is the cost of attending TYUST without financial aid?

If you don’t have a scholarship, attending Taiyuan University of Science and Technology (TYUST) will cost you money for both tuition and housing. According to the details given, the expenses are as follows:

Fees for Doctoral Programs

  • The annual tuition fee is 25,000 CNY (Chinese yuan).
  • The annual accommodation fee is 5,000 CNY.

Fees for Master’s Programs

  • Annual Tuition Fee: 20,000 CNY
  • The annual accommodation fee is 3,000 CNY.
  • Note that these fees do not cover extra charges for things like course materials, personal costs, or the required medical insurance (which costs 800 CNY annually).

Nationalities That Qualify:

Those without Chinese citizenship who possess a valid passport from another nation.

Qualifications:

Health: Excellent, in compliance with Chinese medical requirements for overseas students.

Age and Education:

  • Applicants for master’s programs must have a bachelor’s degree and be under 35.
  • Those applying for PhDs must have a master’s degree and be under 40.

Language Proficiency:

The ability to communicate both in daily life and in academic settings in either Chinese or English.

List of Documents Needed

A letter of good faith, a bank statement, a health certificate, a notarial certificate of non-criminal punishment, degree certificates, transcripts, resumes, reference letters, and a photocopy of the passport are all included in the application package for TYUST. Candidates must confirm that every document is genuine and comprehensive.
