About Destination Australia Scholarships program

The Destination Australia Scholarships program is a program that provides scholarships for individuals to study in Australia.

The primary objective of the Destination Australia Scholarships program is to recruit and provide assistance to students who wish to pursue their studies in rural areas of Australia. This program strives to foster the growth and advancement of tertiary education institutions in regional Australia while ensuring that students have a top-notch learning experience.

The Australian Government sponsors Destination Australia, a scholarship program that offers financial support to students who want to pursue their studies in Australia’s rural areas.

Applications for Destination Australia for the year 2024 are now accepting submissions from undergraduate, diploma, and HDR students who are enrolled at the UniSC Fraser Coast or Gympie campus and will begin their studies in 2024 in one of the authorized programs. Students are required to successfully finish the whole program at one of the approved sites.

Information about Destination Australia Scholarships

The scholarships are worth a maximum of $15,000 each year for the standard length of your study and are disbursed as a single payment following the census date.

The funds can be utilized to defray the expenses incurred while pursuing higher education, including tuition fees and textbooks, as well as costs associated with placements, internships, or study-related travel. The scholarship offers a maximum of AU$ 15,000 in financial aid to cover the expenditures of studying and living in regional Australia, such as lodging and daily living costs. This is an excellent opportunity for students who may not have the means to afford these expenses otherwise.

In the 2023 iteration of the program, a total of 480 scholarships are being offered across 83 campuses belonging to 27 tertiary education organizations.

This project seeks to tackle skill gaps and provide a steady supply of talented people in regional Australia, following the National Skills Priority List of the country. This would result in a greater allocation of teachers, nurses, engineers, and other crucial professionals to the areas where their services are most required. Additionally, it enhances the accessibility of tertiary education in that location for domestic students belonging to underrepresented groups.
