In the 2023 iteration of the program, a total of 480 scholarships are being offered across 83 campuses belonging to 27 tertiary education organizations.

This would result in a greater allocation of teachers, nurses, engineers, and other crucial professionals to the areas where their services are most required.   • Possess the status of an international student with a valid student visa, or be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Reside in a rural or remote place at the beginning and during the duration of the study term.

Qualification

  • LET will begin full-time studies in 2024 at either the USC Fraser Coast or Gympie campuses.
  • Ensure continuous residency in a specific geographical area* for the whole course of the program.
  • Domestic students must be enrolled in one of the programs listed below:
  • Pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing, primary education, social work, or any diploma program at the Fraser Coast campus.
  • Pursue a Bachelor of Nursing or any diploma program at the Gympie Campus.
  • Postgraduate research programs are available at the Fraser Coast or Gympie campus
  • Non-native students: registered in the Bachelor of Nursing program at either the Fraser Coast or Gympie campus.

Criteria for selection

Applicants are required to submit the Destination Australia Scholarship Application Form, which must contain the following:

  • A personal statement showcasing dedication to studying and contributing to the local community in the area where you will pursue your studies.

  • The maximum funding available for undergraduate and higher degree-by-research (HDR) programs is A$60,000.
  • Tuition fees for diploma programs can reach a maximum of $15,000.
