JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE
Coordinate all of the production process steps to ensure that each job is done on time, on budget, and to a high standard. This will make sure that every customer is happy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production:
- Set up production
- Set up a system of control through good planning to make sure production is done on time and for less money. This will help ensure continuous production, with less work in progress and as little waste as possible, based on sales projections.
- Watch over the quality of the products and make sure they are always getting better. Assurance of Quality
- Make sure quality goals and standards are met by controlling the things that hurt the quality of the final product.
- Be in charge of production and ensure daily production records are entered into the company’s system.
- Give weekly reports of production results to top management so that an end-of-month global report can be made for the appropriate department (Quality/Production).
- Maintenance/Safety) for use in monthly meetings.
- Controlling the amount of raw materials and additives used.
- Take care of raw materials and stock of additives
- Send daily reports to the sales team to confirm that products are in stock.
- Make sure there is good control over the stock of finished goods;
- Plan and control Make sure you have a good way to keep track of production.
Team Management
- Efficient management of entire team directly linked to production
- Ensure efficient working time of the production team to avoid idleness
- Efficient management of all human resource-related subjects (leave, overtime, attendance, general planning et) in collaboration with the HR department
- Formulate and implement KPIs for the production team
Environment and safety management
- Ensure full compliance and respect of procedures at cycle Farms Ghana Collaborate with HR department in the recruitment of production staff to always keep a good efficiency and improvement of production.
REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Familiarity with regulations governing animal feed processing including FDA regulations
- Then, Good knowledge of the nutritional needs of different animals
- Good understanding of how different ingredients& processing methods affect the final product
- Comfortable with industrial equipment (feed milling, animal feed)
- Savvy in managing electrical and mechanical assets (Electrician and mechanics assets) a plus.
- Familiarization with Pressurized air and automation systems
- Highly motivated with excellent time management skills
- Proven leadership skills with experience guiding teams to work with co-workers and other departments professionally and tactfully
- Strong organization skills
- Strong ability to provide clear direction and provide timely and helpful feedback to improve processes to keep work on budget and schedule
- Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short and long-term needs
- Experience with coaching and performance management of staff at all levels of the department
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related Field. BSc Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a feed/ food processing environment.
