University of Lynchburg admissions without application fee for 2024–25

The University of Lynchburg has enrolled in Common App’s direct admissions initiative, which will send out proactive admissions offers to more than 200,000 first-generation and low-income college applicants.

Concerning the University of Lynchburg

The University of Lynchburg is a nationally acclaimed private university that cultivates an individual growth attitude and a larger heart for mankind in its students. Here, thought-provoking education inspires change in both the world and each individual.

We are ranked among the top universities in the country by U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review. As of right now, we are one of the few “colleges that change lives.”

Our Story

When we were established in 1903, fewer than sixty pupils were being taught by a small group of teachers in the corridors of a closed resort hotel. In the inaugural graduating class, there were eight individuals.

We have expanded both as a university and as a community since then. We have more than 20,000 alumni and more than 2,500 students worldwide. From a tiny liberal arts college, we grew into a comprehensive university. We question ourselves: How can we better assist our kids at every turn?

We then ask our pupils, “How can you best serve the world?” in return.

Learning

The obvious choice for students who wish to learn more about the world and about themselves is the University of Lynchburg. Here, students are urged to express their opinions and take into account opposing viewpoints as a first step toward learning rather than as an afterthought. Essentially, we won’t dictate to you what to think. You learn how to think independently from us.

The biggest fans of our students are us. And we demonstrate that by an unwavering dialogue based on the liberal arts that is rooted in inquiry and discernment. Our hands-on, comprehensive approach to education blends traditional classroom instruction with real-world applications and experiential learning to provide our students with the best learning opportunities both now and in the future.

Balance

Students at the University of Lynchburg grow in their knowledge, abilities, and capabilities. In addition to being trained for a career, students also learn how to speak up for others and themselves. Stated differently, they’re ready for life. This is so because their personal growth and global progress are vital to ours as an institution. Character plus knowledge equals a better world.

In addition to their commitment to their respective fields of study, our faculty members are committed to helping their students reach their full potential as citizens and scholars. They adjust the learning process to meet the demands of each student. A few options include research projects, study abroad programs, internships, and major customization. They support pupils in pushing themselves to become more of who they want to be and more of who they are.

Community

At Lynchburg, we work to foster a culture of generosity and kindness that extends beyond the campus and into the surrounding community.

Also, we are a welcoming, inclusive, close-knit community. We take social responsibility seriously, are engaged in the community, and will not back down from a challenge or a stand for justice. At Lynchburg, pride and belonging are valued. We’re all Hornets at the end of the day, even though we each have our specialty, club, team, or circle of friends.

Athletics

With over 240 All-Americans, nearly 200 conference championships, and more than a century of athletic success under our belt, we have a distinguished history. Our women’s soccer team made history in 2014 when they won the NCAA Division III championship, the first-ever team national championship for the university.

There are 25 teams in our intercollegiate athletic program—12 men’s and 13 women’s—that compete in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and NCAA Division III. In addition to the ODAC, our equestrian team participates in the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association and the National Collegiate Equestrian Association, where it took first place in 2022.

Students in Lynchburg have access to numerous intramural and club sports programs.
