Details Regarding Scholarship Advantages
There are multiple demographic, academic, and essay-style questions on your online application. A letter of recommendation and your most recent transcript from high school or college displaying your grades must be uploaded. It is not necessary for you to go through hundreds of prerequisites for each scholarship. Volunteer reviewers will use your information to grade your application and match you with appropriate funding options.
This semester, the smallest scholarship is $500. Students may apply to any program at any point in their academic journey.
External Scholarship Information
Scholarship money is usually credited to a student’s college account the week following the add/drop deadline for the semester. Most scholarships are only good for one semester, but some are offered for two semesters—fall and spring—and last for an entire year. The kind of scholarship you receive will be explained in the reward emails you receive.
Typically, scholarships are intended to cover the cost of books, supplies, tools, tuition, and fees associated with coursework. Numerous scholarships also include living expenses.
The opportunity to apply for the spring semester scholarship is open from Wednesday, September 27, to Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Please apply as soon as possible, since late applications will not be considered.
How to Apply to LSC for an External Scholarship
Here are the steps to take if the Lake Superior College Foundation awards you a scholarship on your own.
Where to pick up your award letter or check:
Organizations typically prefer to send your scholarship check to the college rather than to you personally. The Student Payment Office can apply this check to your account, and it is acceptable.
In the event that you possess an official letter of award, please provide a copy to the Student Payment Office so they can track down the check or take other necessary action outlined in the letter. You can send this or do it in person. Please make sure the check or award letter has your LSC student ID number on it.
When to present your award letter or check:
Any scholarship checks or letters of award should be submitted as soon as possible. Notifying you in advance of a scholarship before the semester begins will guarantee your place in classes and protect you from the policy of being dropped for non-payment.
If you have filed an award letter and are awaiting payment,
Your submission of an award letter would shield you from the policy of nonpayment. To ensure that Lake Superior College will get the scholarship check by the deadline for tuition payments for the semester, you need to get in touch with your scholarship sponsor. You might want to arrange a payment plan with the Student Payment Office to avoid incurring late fines if your scholarship check is not going to arrive by the deadline for tuition payments.
An award letter notifies LSC that scholarship money is expected. The contribution must be received as a scholarship check in order for your account to be credited.
