Good News! New Post-Study work Visas for International Students is open now. If you are doing an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Post Doctoral degree from the United Kingdom, then after finishing your degree, you can apply for PSW UK. This Post Work-Study Visa is for 2 Years. Whatever Nationality you hold & Academic Background you can apply for this Fully Funded Opportunity because you only have to submit an application form, then you can stay in the UK for 2 years and can find a good job.
We are happy to see such amazing changes by the Government of Britain for other Countries after Brexit. This is a Great Initiative from the United Kingdom Government. There are NO Work restrictions. You can choose any occupation and can get a Residence permit of 2 years in the UK. From September 2020 this rule will apply to Students.
UK Government will make more changes for talented students to stay in the UK & give benefits to their economy. In this post, We will explain who is eligible for this ost-Study Work Visas. It is 2 years for Postgraduate Degree Holder and 3 years for a Doctoral Degree holder then we will explain how you can get a residency permit in Uk after PSW. There are still a few details to confirm, but we’ll be updating this post from time to time.
What is 2-Year Post-Study Work Visa?
It means now you can stay in the UK for more than 2 years after completing your degree. You can get a Full-Time job in the United Kingdom & save a lot of money before going back to our home country. In fact, if you get any Tier 2 sponsored company, they can hire you for 5 years and after 5 years you can apply for PR in the UK. We will discuss more this topic in this post. First, we discuss who is Eligible.
Who Is Eligible for PSW Route?
This PSW is introduced in 2020. Students who are in the mentioned Year session are eligible for this Opportunity.
- 1 year Masters beginning in the 2020-21 academic year or later
- 2 year Masters beginning in the 2019-20 academic year or later
- 3 year Masters’s or a Ph.D. beginning in the 2018-19 academic year or later.
- Students who are going to finish their Undergraduate degree in Summer 2021 are also eligible.
Will My University Find Job Sponsorship For me?
No, You don’t need any Tier 2 Sponsored Job to get PSW UK. You can get Any Full-Time Job and can stay in UK for more than 2 years on Tier 4 Study Visa. But if you are on long-term thinking to stay in the UK So find Tier 2 Sponsored Job. The UK has announced a list of Tier 2 Company list who will sponsor their selected employee and will give them chance to work in their company for 5 years. After 5 years You can apply for ILR ( Indefinite Leave to remain Uk).
How Many people UK Will the Select for PSW?
There is No Number of Minimum Limits for the Graduate Route of PSW. All Can Apply. There is No Minimum Threshold for a job to stay in Uk for Graduate PSW Route. The threshold for those who are interested to apply for Permanent Residence.
Will I need to apply again if I already have a Tier 4 visa?
Yes. You will need to apply for a separate Graduate Route visa before your Tier 4 visa expires.
Any Application Fee For PSW Grdaute Route?
Yes, you have to pay the Visa Application fee for a separate Graduate Route visa before your Tier 4 visa expires. That is 640 Pounds.
Will this route count towards a Settlement?
The route is non-extendable and does not count towards settlement. However, graduates who find an appropriate job and meet the requirements will be able to switch into skilled work, which is a route to settlement.
Will students who are already here be able to benefit?
Any student who successfully completes their degree-level course at a qualifying institution in the summer of 2021 or after will be eligible. This includes students who are already studying. Those whose Tier 4 leave expires before the route is introduced will not be eligible for it, however, most of these students will have had no expectation of benefitting from such a route when they applied to study in the UK.
Is the Graduate Route affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak?
The Graduate Route Introduce for summer 2021. You may still be eligible if you are forced to complete part of your degree via distance learning, provided you arrive in the UK before 6 April 2021 to complete a semester of study through face-to-face learning at your university.

You will need to apply to the Graduate Route before your Tier 4 student visa expires. This is currently four months after the end of your course (six months for Masters students under the Tier 4 visa Pilot).
