A scholarship of up to $10,000 can be applied to new international undergraduate and graduate students’ mandatory tuition expenses.

This scholarship is available to new international undergraduate and postgraduate students studying any subject at all who are applying to study taught PGDip or Masters of 120 points or more, or who are applying to study undergraduate degrees (with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications).

The primary goal of the scholarship is to entice exceptional new overseas students to join one-year or longer undergraduate or graduate teaching programs at the University of Auckland.

Qualifications:

To be considered for admission to the University of Auckland for a Postgraduate Diploma or Master (taught) of 120 points or more, or an undergraduate degree (applying with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications), applicants must be new international students who have received an unconditional offer of study or English Language Academy (ELA) students who have received a conditional offer. Typically, candidates must possess a grade point equivalent (GPE) of no less than 6.00.

The applicant’s referee’s endorsement, the caliber of the application letter, and academic merit will all be taken into consideration during the selection process. The selection committee may also take the applicant’s place of origin into account.

Application guidelines:

Applications for scholarships often become available six weeks before the deadline. For studies starting in July 2024, the application deadline is April 18, 2024; for studies starting in February 2025, it is November 21, 2024.
