POSITION: Finance Manager

JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Manager’s job will be to handle the administrative and financial reporting needs of the project. He or she will help the Director of Finance keep good financial management practices and make sure that Donor and SEND GHANA’s financial rules, laws, and processes are followed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the financial management of tasks, such as financial reports, purchasing, budgeting, and the logistics of the project.
- Help management keep accounting and financial management internal control tools that are sound and open.
- Help the Program Managers, the Director of Finance, and the HR/Admin Manager with money and spending issues on a daily basis.
- Manage the yearly planning process for projects and help project staff with budget management.
- Work with the program team to make monthly project workplan budgets, keep an eye on any changes, and make sure the budgets are being followed.
- As needed, help local project partners with their financial compliance and reports by giving them money.
- Check the supporting papers for retirements and other costs to make sure they are correct, reasonable, good value for money, and in line with SEND’s financial processes.
- Make and send in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, payroll reports, and any other reports needed by the donor.
- Make sure that the right people prepare, sign, and file the monthly bank balance records.
- Help staff make sure they are following SEND GHANA’s policies, donor rules and regulations, project reward standards, and Ghana’s laws.
- Help the Director of Finance make financial reports, budgets, and management reports on a yearly basis.
- Help with an internal or external audit or a study of financial papers for a project.
- Help to come up with ideas for new projects.
- Any other jobs that the Director of Finance might give them.
Skills or Experience Needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a respected university. Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is a plus.
- Professional qualification: at least CA (Final Level) or ACCA (Strategic Professional).
- At least four years of experience handling money in an NGO or a similar area.
- Experience with the accounting tools Intuit QuickBooks for reporting on donors
- Relevant computer program skills, including, at the very least, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word from MS Office.
- Strong English communication, writing, and public speaking skills. Proven ability to create and keep good project files for responsibility and auditing.
