Research Analyst at ACET
Summary of the Job
The Research Analyst will report to the Head of PSD and be in charge of coordinating and helping to carry out the current workstream of the unit on sustainable economic processing zones. The analyst will also be in charge of studying and analyzing the reports and deliverables that different consultants and outside researchers make to help the program
Roles and Responsibilities
- Using ACET’s study report on Sustainable Export Processing Zones (SEPZs) and working with the Private Sector Development (PSD) team, the PSD study Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Using the key suggestions from the SEPZ research report, give technical and managerial direction for how the SEPZ program should be put into place.
- Find and analyze trends and make suggestions for how export processing zones in Ghana can work better.
- Keep up-to-date on the industry and connected markets you are researching, and talk to companies and agencies to get the information you need.
- Make sure to work well with and stay in touch with other parties, such as the Ghana Free Zones Authority, the Ghana Export Processing Authority, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
- Prepare and keep an eye on the SEPZ program’s annual work plans and budget, which are based on the proposed annual work plans and budgets of the PSD, and follow the approval steps to make sure things get done on time.
- Do any other jobs that the Head of the PSD, other senior colleagues in the PSD, or ACET in general may give you.
The Skilled person’s Education and experience
- A Master’s degree or higher in the social sciences, especially in business administration, economics, or public administration.
- At least three years of work experience in a business or management consulting company
- Relevant knowledge in developing the private sector in Ghana. knowledge in applied research or data management is a plus.
- Experience in economic recovery, economic processing zones, or agriculture enclave zone growth is needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to come up with successful plans and strategies that fit with team goals
- Ability to use what they’ve learned from different places to predict and respond to future trends; show foresight by making models of future changes and possible ways to move forward with SEPZ growth.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, logical, and report-writing skills;
- A self-starter who can work on their own with little help and also as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure, pay attention to details, and get things done on time.
- Good at putting things together and managing projects;
- Good understanding of how to put programs into action, monitor them, and evaluate them.
- The ability to speak French well is a plus.
