Job Title: Technical Operator
GGBPLC runs two locations in five drink categories: stout, lager, RTD, non-alcoholic malt, and mainstream spirits, as well as spirit distribution.

As the Supply function, we will produce quality items in a safe environment at competitive prices, on schedule, and without faults.
Purpose of role:
To meet shift targets, operate packaging equipment (filler, labeller, decrater/recrater, blow moulder, decrater/recrater, palletizer/depalletizer), monitor equipment performance, keep records, perform quality control checks, and effect correction in accordance with the Standard Process Instruction (SPI) and Standard Work Instruction (SWI).
Perform first-line maintenance procedures on packing equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Standards. Frequently say and articulate that safety is our top priority. Be visible as a safety ambassador by always behaving safely and constantly questioning others’ unsafe practices and behaviour, reprimanding where warranted. Follow the site’s safety guidelines, as well as the operational protocols for systems and equipment.
- Ensure that all components of my operation’s Food Safety and Quality Management System are implemented, monitored, and adhered to, with corrective actions made as needed.
- Achieve and report appropriately on all KPIs.
- Work with the Packaging Team Lead to meet production goals and key performance targets, as well as deliver agreed-upon Customer Service levels.
- Provide the best possible plant operation by increasing plant availability and efficiency through the implementation of planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Accurately monitor and log all the equipment’s necessary parameters, such as temperature, pressure, current, and voltage.
- Manage materials, components, and spares required by their plant and equipment, including drawing down stock from locally furnished “bins” and being liable for the stock drawn down.
- Be flexible in terms of availability, attitude, and work methods, and assist colleagues with breakdowns, maintenance, and issue solving on their equipment.
- Actively pursue individual and team training and development, participate in competency-based training programs, and cultivate strong relationships with coworkers, including contractors.
- Compile and comment on any required reports, whether they are original or created automatically. This comprises sheets for status, check, and condition monitoring, among other things.
Qualifications and Experience Required
HND/MET III, EET III (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering), or equivalent
- Three years of experience/competence in Operations, Maintenance, Process Control, and Performance Measurement in a brewery, beverage, or food production setting.
- Show a thorough awareness of the Permit to Work system and GGB PLC SHE policies, regulatory obligations, and duties.
- Show an awareness of collaborative ideas, continuous improvement, preventive maintenance, and issue solving.
