Packaging Team Lead at Guinness Ghana
Purpose:
To plan, organize, and lead packaging shifts so that production goals are met by making good use of plant equipment, and monitoring its condition, and people. He or she will have to work to the standards of World Class Manufacturing.
Context & Scope:
GGB PLC works in a small market, which makes the competition tough. He or she needs to meet the volume goal while making sure that good products are made at the lowest cost by a motivated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Help set standards for health and safety at work. Say and show that safety is our top priority as often as possible. Be honest as a safety ambassador by always acting safely and always calling out unsafe practices and behavior in others, reprimanding them when necessary. Follow the site’s safety rules and the procedures for how to use systems and equipment.
- Make sure that all parts of your operation’s Food Safety and Quality Management System are put in place, supervised, and followed, and that corrective actions are taken when needed.
- Define, agree on, and share workable SOPs, and make sure safety rules are followed to get to zero LTA.
- Responsible for the line: Packaging KPIs: OEE, water usage, waste, plan adherence, OEE, quality, safety, hygiene, and the environment
- Make sure the Perfect Plant Policy is followed and that there is always good housekeeping while on duty. The team should also have the highest standards in all areas.
- Work closely with coworkers (line manager, quality, environment, assetcare, and brewhouse) to give great and complete customer service
- Help his team members get better at doing more than one thing by keeping training records.
- Make sure the quality of the product is the best it can be by keeping an eye on it and paying close attention to the details. This means delivering Right First Time (RFT) on quality and process control parameters.
- Respond quickly to non-conformance to keep the process moving forward. Apply, write down, and share what you find to stop it from happening again.
- Take care of the materials and parts that the plant or equipment needs during shift operations.
- Ensure DWB and GAR rules are followed on shift and records are kept for audits. Look for ways to improve and put CI measures in place.
Qualifications:
- It’s best to have a bachelor’s degree or an HND in science or engineering.
- IBD Associate membership is a good thing
Experience:
- Working in a production environment is a plus.
- Proof of being able to get team results on time
