Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Description
The Process Engineer helps sites run and kept up with MODEC Ghana Limited with their process engineering needs every day. The Process Engineer’s job is to complete the process engineering discipline inputs that apply to all Management of Change or specific maintenance, production, and operations work activities linked to the FPSO operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the jobs that O&M has given to Process Engineering or operations.
- Help with handling professional Process Engineering work that involves a lot of freedom in how it is done and requires a lot of originality, creativity, good judgment, and good knowledge.
- Communicating with and coordinating the work of other engineers from different fields to meet dates, goals, and objectives.
- Helping facilities with practical problems and limited space by coming up with creative and cost-effective solutions.
- Working with clients and offshore teams to make sure that MODEC’s financial KPIs for topside production and processing sites are being met.
- Exploring ways to improve production performance and giving advice on how to do this.
- Serve as a hub for condition-based tracking, performance monitoring, and improving the reliability of topside process equipment.
- System Caretaker of topside production and process tools and facilities.
- Analyze and look into plant trips and deferrals to come up with ways to improve and optimize the topside process.
- Recommend technical answers to problems with top-side process equipment that have been caused by the facilities.
- Be the center of attention for tracking CBM performance and improving the reliability of topside process equipment.
- Lead a variety of Process Engineering tasks and/or provide expert-level technical knowledge and guidance in all stages of a project (conceptual engineering, basic engineering, detailed engineering design, construction, installation, and commissioning).
- Take part in workshops connected to the field (such as cost and schedule, construction review, HAZOP/HAZID & Risk assessment, etc.) and meet with engineering consultants from outside the company.
- Schedule and speed up work on Engineering and projects for the Process Engineering team.
- Evaluation of quotes, explanations, and Technical Bid Analysis from the seller.
Qualification and Experience Required
What it takes to get what are the minimum standards for a worker to be able to do the job? (This could include education requirements, licenses, certifications, work experience, training, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of process engineering/chemical engineering.
- Ten years of experience working with hydrocarbons or offshore oil and gas. It would be nice to have FPSO training.
- 5 years of work as a manager.
- Show that you have a good work ethic and know the Ghanaian and international standards that apply to the oil and gas business and how they affect the operations of the facility.
- Excellent skills in both speaking and writing.
- High level of computer skills in Microsoft Office programs like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Project.
- Strong ability to fix problems and improve topside processes and utility systems.
- Oil stabilization.
- Gas Dehydration & Refrigeration Process.
- Reciprocating / Centrifuge compressor
- Sea water treatment and injection.
- Produced water treatment.
- Utilities ( Instrument Air, Fresh water & Nitrogen system)
- Highly desirable for process design and specific engineering design for process equipment that meets international standards for Floating Production facilities.
- Process Engineer tools (HYSYS/Unisim) require this, but it’s not necessary.
- Project management skills are in high demand.
- Know how the systems and methods for document control and managing purchases work.
- You should be familiar with the repair management system (AMOS or MAXIMO is best).
