ROLE: Sensory Specialist

Job Descriptions:
As a Sensory Specialist with a keen sense of taste, smell, and sight, you will be expected to help the Sensory function in all practical elements of sensory testing, as well as to give sensory expertise and knowledge to support Ghanaian market activities. You will collaborate closely with Consumer & Market Insights, R&D Chef, and culinary marketing.
Important Deliverables
- Provide sensory support and knowledge in response to market demands.
- Define sensory evaluation strategies for use in certain situations.
- Take part in the tasting process, including technical tasting.
- Sensory testing should be planned, organized, and carried out in accordance with sensory best practices.
- Manage test goods in accordance with standards, including receipt, storage, and disposal.
- Conduct statistical data analysis and interpretation, as well as report preparation.
Assist with the management of the sensory panel
- Design, train, and monitor the performance of internal and external panels.
- Use both internal and external panels to conduct sensory descriptive analysis.
- Prepare and carry out training sessions with the assistance of CMI and the R&D Chef.
- Keeps track of both internal and external panel attendance and manages panel information.
In charge of the sensory room
- Follow safe sensory room behavior and excellent sensory room practices.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of sensory equipment and facilities. Order materials and supplies as needed.
- As needed, prepare sensory references.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of several sensory and consumer evaluation approaches, as well as expertise with these methodologies.
- Ability to examine sensory input and interpret conclusions using statistical expertise.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, as well as computer skills on specialist sensory software and statistical tools, are required.
- Ability to effectively exhibit and communicate with sensory panels.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills, as well as interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Report writing skills are required.
- Working alone and without supervision.
- Through developed organizational abilities, the ability to manage numerous priorities at once.
Qualifications
A degree or diploma in sensory science, consumer science, or a related discipline is preferred.
