Latest Employment Opportunity at Jhpiego

ROLE: Consultancy for Donor Landscape Analysis

About the company

Jhpiego is a non-profit health organization that works around the world and is connected to Johns Hopkins University. Also, Jhpiego has been working to stop women and their families from dying needlessly for more than 50 years in more than 155 countries. Jhpiego works with health professionals, governments, and community leaders to make sure that their people get good health care. Jhpiego comes up with plans to help countries take care of themselves.

They do this by training qualified healthcare workers, improving health systems, and making it easier for people to get care. Jhpiego comes up with new, effective, and low-cost ways to help women and their families get the care they need. These practical, evidence-based interventions are making it easier for the most vulnerable people in the world to get high-quality health care.

Job Description

Jhpiego wants to use a framework for development that is led by local communities and their needs. This is based on the idea that development efforts should be led by local communities and their needs, not by international actors. This principle fits with our mission, which is to “transform society through innovative approaches and the transfer of skills to agencies, departments, and decentralized units of government, local partners, and communities.”

Scope of Work

With Ghana in mind, the consultant is expected to do the following:

  • Find and map current and potential funders and their areas of interest, such as primary healthcare, health workforce, health financing, private sector engagement, etc. This should include, if possible, the actual or estimated range of how much they fund (for example, between $100,000 and $400,000) and the types of investments they make (maternal and newborn health, family planning and reproductive health, HIV/TB, malaria, quality improvement, testing and demonstrating innovations, etc.).
  • Governments, foundations, corporations, private or institutional donors, and individuals are all among these funders.
  • Give suggestions and answers to the following important questions: What is the current health market and landscape like in Ghana?
    • Who is giving money, what their priorities are, who is getting money, in what programmatic or technical areas, and what does the future look like? This should include important people who make decisions or have a lot of influence.
    • What are the main goals of the MOHS and GHS, and how do donors support these goals?
    • What are some new or possible funding areas, and who are the players and donors in those areas?
    • Where does Jhpiego have an edge over its competitors, and who are those competitors?
    • Give details about any specific funding opportunities, including, if possible, the dates of any calls for proposals. For each opportunity you find, please suggest any local or INGO partners we might want to think about.
  • Find out which local groups have the most credibility with the MOH, GHS, and donors.
  • What is the focus of their programs, their skills, and their locations?
  • Give suggestions on how Jhpiego can build and maintain relationships with these local groups.
  • Give any suggestions and/or chances for donors to get involved (like meeting with key people).
