Ghana News Agency (GNA) is looking for professionals who are qualified, goal-oriented, skilled, and energetic to fill an open position. Security Officer

POSITION: Security Officer 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• In charge of keeping the Agency’s building in order.
• Check loads of vehicles going in and out.
• Keeps people who aren’t supposed to be there out of the building.
• Keep the area safe and secure to protect the property and the people who work there.
• Keep an eye out for signs of crime or chaos and look into disturbances.
• Get rid of criminals and people who break the rules.
• Write down what happened when something strange happened.
• Report in detail any suspicious incidents.
• Walk around the building and its perimeter at random or at set times.
• Keep an eye on and control who can get in and out of buildings and vehicle gates.
• Keep an eye on alarm systems or video cameras and use the equipment for detecting emergencies.
• Does any other tasks that the supervisor might give?

Needed Qualifications and Experience

• At least three years of proven work experience as a Security Guard or in a similar job.
• Should have at least a certificate or diploma from high school.
• Know how to use systems for finding things and equipment for emergencies.
• Knows a lot about public safety and security protocols and procedures.
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
• A good understanding of the rules for public safety and security in the area.
• Have some experience writing reports.
• Great skills at watching and observing;
• Good skills at managing time;
• Great skills at getting along with people and talking to them;
• Honesty and professionalism.
