Human Resources Business Partner – Manufacturing at Upfield
Your Role:
As the HRBP Manufacturing, it will be your job to make sure that all of the people’s needs at the manufacturing site are met. By working well with your client group as a partner, you will make sure that HR policies and processes are carried out well. You will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the leaders of the factory and business. You will use your business knowledge and insight to figure out what the business needs in terms of talent, organization, culture, and skills, and then you will implement solutions to meet those needs.
The main duties of the job
- Assesses the manufacturing organization’s talent needs in order to come up with and implement the best talent solutions.
- Effectively works with factory managers to help them make the right decisions about talent.
- Engages employees and tells them about the vision for good teams and good change management.
- Knows how to use organization diagnostic tools to plan and carry out a variety of organization development and change-speeding programs.
- Coaches and gives advice to manufacturing managers on how to improve performance through the best use of organization and team design techniques.
- Works at both the organizational and individual level to figure out what people need to learn and improve their skills. Informs the client group about how learning interventions can help their business and their performance.
- Develops a good ER strategy and implements it by coaching employees to make sure they understand employment law and how to reduce risks.
- Helps factory managers learn how to make decisions about performance and pay.
- Makes sure the organization follows local and national laws by keeping an eye on legal issues and taking care of them (for e.g. recruitment, diversity, data protection, employee contracts)
- Has financial and budgetary responsibility for HR at the factory site. This means managing budgets, controlling and reducing absence costs, and making the best use of FTEs.
- Drive the implementation of a “World-Class approach” with the factory leadership team by educating the factory resources and coordinating change management efforts.
- Is in charge of delivering Employee and Industrial Relations (ER/IR) to the business (knowledge of legislative codes and how they affect the organization, relationships with work councils/unions, government/regulatory bodies, community, etc.).
- Contributes to the business’s talent strategy by gaining insight into and analyzing people-related business problems and opportunities.
- Measures and keeps track of the site’s Human Resources (HR) and Organizational Effectiveness (OE) throughout the HR lifecycle.

Change management: needed skills and experience
- Graduate from college
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with IR and operations
- Experience with HR systems and processes that is useful
- Good knowledge of key HR processes, roles, and responsibilities throughout the HR lifecycle
- Relevant experience with ER/IR systems and processes in a complex environment. A thorough understanding of management trade unions, key legal, compliance, safety, and other regulatory issues that affect key HR processes. knows what problems to look out for and when to bring in experts.
- Ideally, the person has worked in an HR service center and/or with an expert team, as well as doing HR management on the ground.
