Project Description

Volunteering for growth is a big part of what WUSC does to reach its goal. The IGNI+E project is funded by Global Affairs Canada. It works with over 70 partner groups to help 1.2 million young people around the world become more economically independent and promote gender equality.

Through volunteer work and public engagement, IGNI+E uses the knowledge, skills, and abilities of skilled Canadians to help partners improve their performance, fight for gender equality, and create more sustainable, innovative, and inclusive programs and services for poor and marginalized youth, especially young women.

Overseas, our volunteers work with a wide range of partners, such as business and social company incubators, training centers, women’s groups, and youth groups. In Canada, WUSC works with institutions and individuals to find, prepare, and support volunteers who go abroad to help our partners.

Partner Description

The Ghana Technical Vocational Education and Training Service (GTVET), which is the new name for the combined TVET service, has a lot of knowledge from the 48 years it has been around. Act 351 of 1970 made the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) a legal organization. Its job is to coordinate all parts of vocational training, such as apprenticeship, on a national level.

A tripartite national manpower board was set up in 1967 to do a thorough study of the country’s manpower needs and places for skill training. It brings together the government, businesses, and workers to plan the best way to develop and use human resources in line with the planned social and economic growth of the country.
