Chief Accountant Career Opportunity at Africa World Airlines
This is an exciting career opportunity for airline enthusiasts to work with the award-winning airline in Ghana.
Job Title: Chief Accountant
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Firstly, Must have oversight of monthly close, reviewing journal entries, reconciliation, and variance explanation
- Secondly, Ensuring all accounting transaction are performed correctly on time
- Thirdly, Confirm transaction are made accurately and entered in the accounting system
- Moreover, Ensure suppliers invoice and reconciled and payments made
- Furthermore, Reconcile financial transaction every month
- Additionally, Validate and reconcile inventory and fixed asset accounts
- More so, Release employees EOSB and reconcile entries for EOSB provision
- Thereafter, Prepare the monthly cash requirement for FPIG and FPI Dubai
- Besides that, Liaise with the department head to collect data for preparing budget and forecast
- Then, Ensure collect data is loaded in analytical software
- Also, Compare actual with a budget and determine the reason for the variances monthly
- Most importantly, Prepare year-end financial statement
- Likewise, Ensure weekly bank reports generated by the IT department are properly reconciled with the bank statement
- Not just that but also, Prepare a report for the finance management team
- Afterwards, Check cost center expenses and compare them against budget
- Then, Validate online expense claim and process forward for approval
- Also, Count petty cash weekly
Minimum Qualification:
- A minimum of a First degree in Accounting or a relevant field from a reputable university.
- ICA(GH) is required, ACCA preferred. +15+ years of experience leading and managing financial responsibilities of a multi-national company and at least 5 years in a managerial role
- Experience in strategic planning and execution required -Excellent skill in Microsoft Office is required
- Working experience in an audit firm is preferred
- Experience in ERP or the Finance Modules in ORACLE Fusion preferred
- Airline experience is preferred
- Reporting Line: Head, Finance & Accounting
