Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) is a well-established research center in Africa. It is one of three field research centers run by the Research and Development Division of the Ghana Health Service, an agency of the Ministry of Health. KHRC’s work has an effect on health policy and practice in Ghana, Africa, and the rest of the world. KHRC is in the middle of Ghana. It does research and training both nationally and internationally, and its staff is made up of people from many different fields.
Job Description
To offer medical laboratory services and help with research and clinical care by following good laboratory practices and ensuring quality.
Responsibilities
- Do routine lab tests and help with more complicated ones.
- Then, Do technical work in the lab within reasonable time limits and according to safety rules and standard operating procedures.
- To keep good laboratory practice, you should write things down and keep accurate records.
- Make sure that the equipment they are in charge of is kept up to the standards set by the department and the law.
- Set up internal measures for Quality Control (QC) of technical procedures.
- Help with research, figuring out how to use new techniques, and lab audits.Do any other tasks and responsibilities that the head of the Unit gives you.
Skills or Experience Needed
Educational Qualification
- BSc Medical Laboratory Science
- Licensed by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
Experience skills and attributes
- At least ONE (1) year of experience working in a well-known medical lab.
- General knowledge of how Microbiology, Haematology, and Chemical Pathology work and what they are used for.
- Knowledge of issues with quality assurance
- Health and safety know-how
- Being able to use new, complicated equipment.
- Find out about your experience.
- Able to handle their own work while being supervised.
- Ability to change with your surroundings.
- Show that you are careful and accurate.
- Very good verbal and written skills.
- skill with word processing.
- How to use spreadsheets and how to use the software.
- Show that you can adapt and work in a methodical way.
- Ability to work well in a team, be well organized, and be self-motivated.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
