Job Description
Banyan Global is looking for a Deputy Chief of Party for the upcoming USAID/West Africa Economic Growth Collaborating, Learning, Adapting, and Monitoring (CLAP) platform. The DCOP will oversee CLAP employees on a daily basis in the design and implementation of activities relating to monitoring and evaluation (M&E), collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA), and MEL capacity building.
The ideal candidate will have experience with USAID programming and a high degree of attention to detail, as well as knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and the implementation of performance monitoring systems. He or she will love collaborating with a great team of MEL, CLA, and KM experts to provide high-quality MEL products and services. Accra, Ghana, is the location of the position. Responsibilities
- Supervise, task, mentor, and manage CLAP technical personnel performance.
- Examine all technical deliverables and work items to ensure they satisfy quality expectations and are in accordance with USAID advice and strategies.
- Ensure that CLAP technical products address the priorities and gaps in Mission M&E and learning.
- Develop and monitor the execution of systems for envisioning and carrying out work plan activities in an efficient and rigorous manner.
- Develop and implement standard methodologies, templates, tools, and systems to improve learning and adaptation within the Economic Growth office of the Mission and its implementing partners.
- Oversee CLAP’s quarterly performance reports.
- Oversee the creation and submission of contract deliverables.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least eight years of growing responsibility in M&E, including third-party monitoring, data quality evaluations, and the development of theories of change and MEL frameworks.
- At least ten years of experience in international development, including some time with USAID or on USAID-funded projects.
- Experience in development programming that promotes inclusive, sustainable, and resilient economic growth.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative research design and analysis, as well as knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytical software packages, is required.
- Experience designing and delivering interventions that encourage cooperation, learning, and adaptation is required.
