
Ghana Water grants grace to defaulting customers
The Ghana Water Company in trying to recover all arrears has announced a grace period to all its defaulting customers in August this year.
By this offer, customers who have arrears for two months or more will be given the grace period to settle all outstanding bills in August.
The Head of Communications of the water company, Stanley Martey, in a press statement, noted that customers who default in paying their arrears by the end of August will have their names published in the national newspapers.
PERIOD OF GRACE
The grace period will be an opportunity for customers who have illegally connected to the service, to turn themselves in. They are to report to any regional or district office of the GWCL to have their services regularised.
The Ghana Water Company further cautioned their customers to make sure they are in good standing with the law adding that. “All customers are encouraged to take advantage of this period to right the wrongs or will have to face the rigors of the law”.
The press release also encouraged customers who had problems with their bills to visit the district offices. At the office, the necessary problems will be solved before the grace period ends.
COOPERATION
The press statement emphasized the organization’s dedication to providing quality services to the general public. Thus, appealed to the public to work hand in hand with the organization for efficient services to be rendered.
Again, the statement disclosed that all its offices in the various districts were opened during normal working hours. The offices also have personnel who will serve the customers that walk in.
