Premium Foods Limited (PFL), which is based in EjisuKwaso in the Ashanti Region, is Ghana’s largest Agro-processing company. PFL is looking for someone who is self-motivated, well-organized, has strong analytical skills, and pays close attention to detail as a Finished Goods Warehouse Manager.

Job Description: 

This person is in charge of making sure that all finished goods and other by-products (such as Grits, Super Cereals and Super Cereals Plus, Maizoya, Lovit, etc.) are stored in the most cost-effective way possible. To always have enough finished goods in stock for sales and operational planning (S&OP) meetings, but not so many that they tie up capital.

Location and Reporting Line: The job is at Premium Foods Limited’s Kwaso Factory in Kumasi, and the Factory Manager is the person who is in charge.

What the job is really about (key responsibilities)

• To report the stock position of finished goods every day at the operational review meetings.
• Make sure there are always enough finished goods for sale.
• Set minimum and maximum stock levels for all finished goods to manage the space and make sure you don’t run out of stock or have too much.
• Make sure the quality checks are done before sending the goods to different customers.
• Work with procurement to get trucks ready for shipping to different customers.
• Make sure that products from packaging to the finished goods warehouse are checked every day to cut down on losses at the end of the month.
• Make sure that all finished goods and by-products are counted once a month.
• Attend a meeting on sales and operational planning to make sure that production and the warehouse of raw materials are in sync for the month before.
• Make sure the right quality raw materials are in stock to get rid of quality problems right away.
• Plan and carry out programs for staff training and development.
• Make sure there is a high level of safety at work so that equipment and machinery don’t break and people don’t get hurt.
• Watch over and make sure that all Food Safety and HACCP rules are always followed.
• Make sure you get along well with the production, raw materials, and quality managers to make sure the warehouse runs smoothly.
• Work with procurement to make sure that supplies are sent to customers on time so that the finished goods warehouse doesn’t get too full.
• Take stock of all stock items monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Recommend to management that stock items that are no longer useful be written off.

Qualifications, work history, and key skills

• Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management or a similar field.
• At least five years of experience working in manufacturing or a related field. Good knowledge of planning, budgeting, and organizing.
• Food Safety Management system and safety protocols must be well understood.
• Shown the ability to make quick decisions to cut down on or get rid of waste.
• Be able to figure out how to fix any problem that comes up at the warehouse during sales.
• Ability to lead and manage people for success by working with the production, purchasing, and sales teams on site.
• Must be able to think critically and lead well.
