Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area of the Sandvik Group. It is a major global provider of equipment and tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry, including rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading, hauling, and materials handling.

Do you have the drive and determination to win in a competitive sales environment? Do you have a history of developing new businesses and using sales pipeline management and CRM tools well? We have a great chance for a Territory Manager who speaks French to join our Sales Area West Africa team in West Africa (Flexible/Ghana/Mali/Burkina Faso). The person in this job will report to the Vice President of West Africa.

The Territory Manager – Francophone will be fully responsible for driving growth and delivering Sandvik Mining and Rock Solution’s value offering to customers by driving the implementation of the Sandvik strategy in the Francophone Territories.

Key Responsibilities

  • The main point of contact for customers in the French-speaking territories given to SAWA.
  • Make sure the Territory/Sales Area Business Plan is made and put into action with the help of Sales Area BLMs.
  • Make a list of potential new clients in Francophone West Africa.
  • Take advantage of new possibilities by making customer solutions and proposals that are compelling.
  • Learn as much as you can about the items and services offered by SMR.
  • As part of strategy and planning, make a plan for the Territory’s resources (organization, workshop, stocking points, developing skills, managing talent, sharing services, etc.).
  • Drive the plan and budget that have been agreed upon through all service areas and activities.
  • Sandvik tools, technology, and Aftermarket solutions are marketed and sold.
  • Putting together business plans and ideas and making suggestions.
  • Watch over the growth of key projects and is responsible for the projects’ successful start-up and end.
  • Responsible for finding new business chances so that the company can be competitive in the market.
  • studies the market and whether or not something could work.
  • Lead, direct, assess, and develop a team of professionals to reach sales and business development goals.
  • Make sure that each Division’s business is doing well.
  • Keep a close eye on how the agreed-upon strategy is being carried out, and work with the Sales Area Management team to start and carry out any necessary steps to reduce risks.
  • Lead support tasks such as marketing, environmental health and safety, finance, legal, and human resources.
  • Encourage the Sales Area Business Line Manager and Key Customer Managers to work together all the time.
  • Follow all SMC policies and procedures, particularly the SHEQ rules.

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or classes about mining. Having a master’s or doctorate in business is a plus.
  • It’s best if you have at least ten (10) years of experience in a similar Management job. It is good to have experience with foreign markets and a strong understanding of other cultures, especially in difficult, remote places.
  • Excellent at talking to people and building relationships.
  • Good understanding of where the job is and what it does.
  • A history of creating new businesses that do well.
  • Proven success leading high-value technical bids, proposals, and contracts
  • Use sales pipeline management and customer relationship management (CRM) tools well.
  • Good business and financial sense
  • To win in a competitive sales setting, you need drive and a strong will.
  • Knowledge of how to use Microsoft 365 tools
  • Excellent ability to talk to people and give talks.
  • Good trading skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team with people from different fields. Being able to speak French.
  • License or badges
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • able to pass a check of your criminal history.
  • able to get clearance from the ITAR.
