Study In USA: University Of Virginia Scholarships 2024
The University of Virginia Scholarships are available at many academic levels, including undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD programs or research programs offered by the University of Virginia. International scholarships, fellowships, or grants are available to students who are not from the country where the university is located. In addition to scholarships offered by universities, there are numerous other organizations, such as foundations, trusts, and corporations, that provide scholarships specifically for international students.
Our primary responsibility is to furnish you with accurate information regarding the University of Virginia Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as a comprehensive list of scholarships available to international students at the University of Virginia.
Criteria for Qualifying for University of Virginia Scholarships
To be considered for any Title IV federal financial aid programs and need-based aid support from the University, students must fulfill all eligibility standards outlined in this document.
- Possess a High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- To qualify for financial assistance, students must possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, or possess a certificate demonstrating completion of a home-study program that is officially recognized by their state of residence.
Must be registered in a recognized academic program
To qualify for any financial assistance from the University, students must be officially registered in a recognized program that leads to a degree. The Undergraduate Record and the Graduate Record contain a comprehensive list of programs and degrees. Students enrolled in an authorized study abroad program or one of the University’s exchange programs are qualified to receive financial assistance from the University. The Office of International Studies provides a comprehensive list of authorized study abroad and exchange programs.
Credit Hours
Undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time, meaning they must take at least twelve credit hours per semester, to be eligible for a complete financial assistance award package. Undergraduates who have prior authorization from their dean to enroll in fewer courses than a full-time load may see a reduction in their financial aid award, by federal requirements and institutional policy. However, they are often expected to maintain enrollment in at least six credit hours to be eligible for financial aid.
To be eligible for federal financial aid, graduate students at UVA are required to register for a minimum of six credit or non-topical/research/thesis hours each semester throughout the academic year and must be enrolled at least half-time.
Unless the University has a valid consortium agreement on record for a study abroad program, it will not provide students with financial assistance to study at another institution. Before studying at another institution, students should consistently seek guidance from the Student Financial Services (SFS) department to ensure that they will get financial assistance from the University of Virginia (UVA) for their studies.
