Requirements for eligibility:

The Ph.D. program has specific minimum entry requirements that must be met:

• A Master’s Degree in the specified discipline or a related field from a university that is certified and recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
• A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in a particular subject or a related field from a reputable university that has received UAE Ministry of Education certification. The degree should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
• A minimum score of 6.5 or above on the IELTS Academic exam, or an equivalent score on another recognized English proficiency test, is required for all subjects taught in English or for writing the dissertation in English.

• an individual who is fluent in English as their first language, and has successfully obtained a Master’s degree from an educational institution where English is the primary language of instruction, and in a country where English is the official language.
• a candidate who has completed a Master’s degree from an institution where English is the primary language and can demonstrate a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or its equivalent at the time of applying for the Master’s program.
• Admission into the PhD program, which is taught in Arabic, requires a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or its equivalent.

• Each college has the authority to establish extra and/or more rigorous criteria for admission to the Ph.D. program within its department or college.

The application package must comprise the following components:

• A duly filled-out application form.
• Appropriate identification documents for Emirati students (copies of passport and Khulasat Al-Qaid) and overseas students (copy of passport).
• One authenticated duplicate of the official diploma and transcript from each university attended;
• A certified copy of the applicant’s score on the IELTS exam or an equivalent exam; Two letters of recommendation from experts who are knowledgeable about the student’s academic performance;
• duplication of the candidate’s curriculum vitae;
• Submission of the applicant’s research experience and interest written in the program’s designated language of instruction.

• The applicant must arrange for two certified copies of official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended to be forwarded directly to the Office of Enrollment.
• The applicant must arrange for an authentic copy of their IELTS certificate or equivalent certification to be forwarded directly to the Office of Enrollment.
