Study In Hungary: Eotvos Lorand University Scholarship 2024

The Hungarian government introduced the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program for international students in 2013. The program’s objectives are to advance economic, cultural, and intercultural understanding between Hungary and other nations.

Citizens of over 80 countries as well as sending partners may be eligible to apply for the scholarship for full- or partial-degree (exchange) study.

About Eötvös Loránd University

According to international rankings of higher education, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), one of Hungary’s oldest institutions of higher learning, has long held the title of top university in the country. ELTE’s success has been founded on the close connections between research and instruction during the majority of its nearly four-century existence.

Its goals include developing and meeting society’s long-term requirements, advancing research and disseminating academic knowledge, and protecting and enhancing culture on a national and international scale.

ELTE, Hungary’s oldest and most continuously running university, was established in 1635 and upholds the finest European traditions while promoting the goals of superior research and education.

Because ELTE believes that excellent higher education is impossible without excellent research, it wants to represent both sides of the traditional idea of Universitas at the highest level: the creative community of teachers and students (Universitas magistrorum et discipulorum) and the idea of an institution actively pursuing different scientific and scholarly disciplines (universitas scientiarum).

Why Attend the University of Eötvös Loránd?

Degree programs are available at the undergraduate (BA/BSc), graduate (MA/MSc), and postgraduate (PhD) levels at Eötvös Loránd University. A large selection of full- and part-time curricula and courses are offered in English and other foreign languages. Certain programs further provide specialized preparatory courses. With over 100 programs taught in foreign languages, ELTE provides students pursuing top-tier academic advancement with a multitude of options.

ELTE has eight faculties that span nearly every scientific area, including natural sciences, business and economics, psychology, education, humanities, informatics, legal and political sciences, and special education in addition to primary and preschool education. Three thousand of our university’s thirty thousand students are foreign, coming from all over the globe via more than one thousand Erasmus+ collaborations and more than 150 bilateral agreements, such as international credit mobility cooperatives.

ELTE is in charge of organizing several mobility initiatives. Erasmus+ is the institution’s most significant grant program, providing possibilities for international ideas and experience exchange among academic staff, teachers, and administrative assistants. ELTE is the Hungarian university that sends the most students abroad on scholarships.
