The Shaanxi Normal University Xian Belt and Road Scholarship 2024 in China is now accepting applications from international students. The scholarship provides funding for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs in any discipline offered at Shaanxi Normal University. The scholarship’s deadline is April 30, 2024.

Shanxi Normal University

Shanxi Normal University (SXNU) was founded in 1958 and is a well-known university at the provincial level. The campus is situated in Taiyuan, which is in the southern part of Shanxi Province. The university comprises 22 schools and provides 61 undergraduate programs, 23 graduate disciplines, 2 doctoral disciplines, and 2 post-doctoral mobile stations. Presently, there is a total of 16,669 full-time undergraduate students and 3,550 graduate students. There are a total of 1284 full-time instructors, with 10 of them being recipients of national academic prizes and 88 being recipients of provincial academic honors.

The university, dedicated to its worldwide perspective, maintains working partnerships with over 50 international universities and research institutions. Having a track record of successfully attracting and nurturing international students for over two decades, the university currently boasts a student body of over 500 individuals from Asia, Europe, Africa, and other regions.

International students have access to all the courses offered at the university. The students have access to a wide range of study facilities and fully equipped accommodations. Starting in 2016, the institution has implemented scholarships specifically designed for international students across all academic and non-academic areas.

Shanxi Normal University currently consists of 24 schools that provide a total of 61 undergraduate majors. These majors include subjects such as economics, management, literature, medicine, engineering, art, agriculture, languages, and education, among others. Shanxi Normal University comprises the following academic divisions:

College of Arts, College of Political Science, College of History, College of Foreign Languages, College of Education, College of Fine Arts, College of Music, College of Economics and Management, College of Mathematics, College of Science and Technology, College of Chemistry, College of Life, College of City Environment, School of Communication, College of Engineering, and Institute of Sports Studies.

As of June 2018, the number of full-time teachers at the school exceeded 1170. Among them, two individuals have been recognized as national Jie Qing, one individual who is a leader in young and middle-aged scientific and technological innovation, one individual who has been designated as a 10,000-person leader, and one individual who has the esteemed position of special professor and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In September 2015, the school offered 6 specializations at the state level, 14 specialties recognized at the provincial level for their quality, 13 courses recognized at the provincial level for their quality, and 9 experimental teaching demonstration centers recognized at the provincial level. Furthermore, the school is involved in the implementation of the national experimental area for innovative talent training methods and the establishment of a national off-campus practical education base for university students.

Academic facilities and scientific research

Shanxi Normal University initiated the reform of its talent training model in 2005. As part of this reform, they implemented a 3.5 0.5 talent training model and created educational innovation experimental zones in 45 counties across 11 prefectures and cities. Additionally, they collaborated with local authorities to construct Xunzi College.

In September 2015, the school created four interdisciplinary research platforms: the Research Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Research Center for Macromolecular Science, the Research Center for Basic Education, and the Center for Applied Research in Science and Technology. Additionally, the school has one key laboratory that is recognized by the Ministry of Education.

There are four primary research bases in the fields of humanities and social sciences, one important laboratory in Shanxi Province, and one Engineering and Technology Research Center in Shanxi Province.

The school library houses a vast collection of over 2.24 million documents, which includes 600,000 electronic books. Additionally, it possesses 100,000 volumes of ancient books, a comprehensive series of Shanxi local chronicles, 635 different types of ancient books, and a total of 9,429 volumes of ancient books.

Achievements of Shanxi Normal University

Over several decades, teachers from Shanxi Normal University have published a significant number of academic papers. Specifically, 253 of these papers were published in the main contents of Chinese Core Journals, while 109 papers were collected by prestigious databases such as SCI, EI, ISTP, etc. Out of these, 75 papers were collected by SCIE, 48 by SCICD, 67 by EI, and 2 by ISTP in the year 2011.

In 2011, the faculty of Shanxi Normal University were honored with a total of 29 prizes, consisting of 6 government honors and 23 academic awards. Furthermore, our school has been ranked as the second most prominent national advanced collective in the field of R&D resource inventory education. In 2010, the faculty of Shanxi Normal University were honored with a total of 28 prizes, comprising 26 government honors and 2 academic awards.

Furthermore, our school, along with its science and technology department, received the prestigious sixth Social Science Research Excellence Award of Shanxi Province, as well as the “100 Projects” Organization Award from the Shanxi Federation of Social Sciences in 2010.

Interpersonal exchange and global collaboration

The institution always emphasizes the importance of global education. Schools establish partnerships and engage in extensive, cross-disciplinary educational exchanges and collaboration. We have developed amicable collaborations and exchange partnerships with over 40 international universities and academic organizations. Educational Attainment:

The Shaanxi Normal University Xian Belt and Road Scholarship 2024 in China is open for students who wish to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programs at Shaanxi Normal University.

Advantages of the scholarship:

Scholarship Scope:

The cost for a Bachelor Program is 25,000 CNY for each individual.
The cost for a Master’s Program is 20,000 CNY per individual.
The cost for doctoral programs is 15,000 CNY per individual.
The cost for the Chinese Language Program, which must be attended for a minimum of 6 months, is 1000 CNY per month per participant. The period of the scholarship is shorter than 10 months.

Please be aware that this program only offers scholarships for one year. Recipients are required to pay for their tuition costs, lodging, insurance, and other expenses until their scholarship application is approved.

Eligible Nationalities:

This award is available to students from any country, regardless of their nationality.

Requirements for eligibility:

To qualify for the Belt and Road Scholarship, you must fulfill the following requirements.

The applicant must have a passport from one of the countries participating in the Belt and Road initiative.
Foster a strong diplomatic relationship with China
Must possess optimal physical and mental well-being.
Possesses strong moral values, adheres to norms and regulations, and demonstrates diligence and perseverance in academic pursuits.
Adhere to Chinese laws, regulations, and school discipline guidelines.
No further scholarships have been received.

Minimum age criteria:

For the Bachelor Program, applicants must be under the age of 30.
Eligibility criteria for the Master Program: Applicants must be below the age of 35.
For the Doctoral Program, applicants must be under the age of 40.
Applicants for Chinese Language must be under the age of 40.

Linguistic prerequisites:

Applicants must provide an English ability Test Certificate, such as IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 60, or any other evidence of English language ability for English Taught Programs.
Please note that applicants who are native speakers of English or Chinese are not required to provide any evidence of language skills.
