The National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) invites Chilean citizens and international residents with permanent residency in Chile to apply for the 2024 Magister Program for Education Professionals, a part of the Becas Chile project.

This program is specifically tailored for education professionals employed in state-supported educational institutions, encompassing municipal schools, private subsidized schools, and technical-professional high schools operating under delegated management. This initiative especially focuses on professionals who are currently engaged in institutions within the Professional Development System and are controlled by DL 3.166.

The program aims to develop proficient persons in key areas such as Curriculum, Evaluation, School Management, Learning, Disciplinary Area Deepening, Didactic Pedagogy, School Coexistence, Value Formation, and English Teaching, among others.

Applicants must currently hold employment in Chilean educational institutions that receive state subsidies and must meet rigorous criteria for academic excellence in order to be considered eligible. The application process begins on June 4, 2024, and ends with a deadline for inquiries on July 2, 2024. Final applications must be submitted by July 9, 2024.

Criteria for eligibility for the ANID Masters Degree in Education Professionals Scholarship:

  • Citizenship: Applicants must be either a Chilean citizen or a foreign resident with permanent status in Chile at the time of application.
  • Educational Qualification: Must hold a teaching certificate or educator title issued by a Chilean normal school, university, or a foreign institution recognized by Chilean authorities.
  • Academic Achievement: Demonstrate outstanding academic performance by meeting at least one of the following criteria:
  • Achieve a minimum GPA of 5.0 out of 7.0 (or its equivalent on a 1-to-7 scale) in your undergraduate or professional degree.
  • Attain a rank among the upper 30% of your graduating class (see to section 7.8.7 for the required documentation to confirm your rating).
  • It is important to understand that while only one of the above academic accomplishments is required, all applicants must provide the documents outlined in sections 7.8.7 and 7.8.8 to assess their score for “undergraduate academic background.”
  • Present Occupational Background: Presently employed as an educator in a Chilean public educational institution:
  • Public schools are administered by local government bodies.
  • Government-funded private schools
  • Decree-Law 3,166 governs technical-professional high schools that are managed by corporations.
