Applying for scholarships at Dalhousie University

Kindly adhere to the guidelines provided to apply for scholarships at Dalhousie University.

Access the FGS Scholarship Management Platform by logging in. If you own a Dalhousie NetID, choose “Use Dalhousie NetID” to sign in. If not, kindly provide an email address and generate a password. Creating a single account is sufficient, even if you plan to apply for many possibilities.

Generate a new scholarship application or modify an existing one by choosing from the “My Applications” list on your home page. Each applicant is limited to submitting just one application per competition for the Harmonized Scholarship. Please refrain from submitting multiple applications.

Master’s applicants who have applied for the Tri-Agency CGS-M competition might decide to use their CGS-M application in the Harmonized Scholarship Process. To proceed, choose “Master’s Level—CGS-M Opt-In” as the submission category and continue with the application. The Faculty of Graduate Studies will connect your CGS-M application with your opt-in form, which includes reference letters and transcripts submitted for the Tri-Agency CGSM competition. The opt-in date is December 1st, which aligns with the CGS-M application deadline provided by Tri-Agency. If you do not choose to participate in the CGS-M application, you must fill out a complete Harmonized Scholarship Application to be eligible for other rewards.

    Advise to applicants

All applicants are advised to fill out the self-identification questionnaire available on the online scholarship platform. Administrators can use this to ensure that candidates are placed in the review process for award opportunities that have particular eligibility criteria. The information in this questionnaire is secret and not visible to reviewers.

Click “Next” at the bottom of each page to progress through the application. By clicking “Save,” the applicant can close the application and return to it later for editing or updating.

The applicant must receive official transcripts and upload them immediately in the scholarship portal, following the guidelines provided in the application. FGS does not offer transcripts from entrance applications. Consolidate transcripts from several universities into a unified PDF file before submission. Unofficial grade records for current Dalhousie students can substitute official transcripts for the harmonized scholarship procedure.

All recommendation letters must be uploaded to the portal by the deadline of January 16, 2025. The application portal will close for both applicants and referees after this date, and incomplete applications will not be considered for evaluation. Reference letters will not be accepted via email or in print form. Applicants should inform their references of a deadline a few days to one week before January 14 to account for unanticipated crises or technological challenges.

Applicants will be notified via email after their reference has been completed, and a “received” indication will be displayed in red next to each referee’s name on the portal.
