Level of degree:

Completely funded KU Leuven Masters Scholarships are available to study at KU Leuven for Masters-level courses in 2024–2025 in Belgium.

Benefits of the Scholarship:

The following advantages are provided to recipients of the KU Leuven Scholarship:

• The maximum scholarship award for a single year is 10,000 euros. The Science@Leuven Fund Board will decide on the exact scholarship amount. It usually includes basic health care and insurance for the whole year’s tuition. The allocation for living expenditures could change.
• Even if a student receives the entire 10,000 Euro scholarship, it’s a good idea to have some extra cash on hand.
• The majority of the master’s programs offered by the Faculty of Science are two years long. The student must have earned extraordinary first-year performance to be eligible for an extension of the scholarship for the second year of the master’s degree.

Nationalities That Qualify:

• International students of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this award.

Eligibility:

Candidates must fulfill each of the following requirements to be considered for the KU Leuven Scholarship:

Language Ability:

Candidates must show that they are proficient in English, with a minimum IELTS score of 7 or a TOEFL score of 94 required.

Nationality

International applicants are welcome to apply for the scholarship.

Prior Association:

• Candidates shouldn’t have worked or studied at the University of Leuven in the past.

Academic Background:

• Applicants must be admitted to the master’s program at a foreign university where they have earned a bachelor’s degree.

• Candidates should not have held a Ph.D. or master’s degree previously.

• Applicants must be able to present proof of their exceptional academic achievement from their previous schooling.

How to Apply:

Kindly adhere to the following guidelines to apply for the KU Leuven Scholarship:

1. A detailed record of all the course names you have completed and received credit for. Provide information about the course’s credit count (in ECTS) and your performance, ideally using the ECTS scale. If a separate scoring system is applied, give a brief justification of how the scores should be interpreted.
2. Briefly describe the courses that you believe are most pertinent to the master’s program you are interested in, using the standards of the standard ECTS study guide.
3. Provide two letters of recommendation from teachers who are well-known worldwide.
4. Send in a motivational letter for the course.

Important Information

The grant will only be awarded to students who have met all of the prerequisites.

There is no waiting period required for program approval; you can apply for the scholarship as soon as you apply to a particular master’s program. However, should it turn out that you are not going to be accepted into the master’s program, your scholarship application will be rejected.
