The Macquarie University Sydney Australia Graduate Research Scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025 are available to international students. Educational Attainment:

- Recipients may obtain assistance to cover the costs of their tuition fees, thereby alleviating the financial strain associated with their selected academic program.
Stipend:
Scholarships might grant a stipend, which provides financial support to pay necessary living expenses while pursuing academic studies.
Supplementing the Living Allowance:
Aside from the basic stipend, participants may qualify for an additional fund, which will further augment their financial assistance beyond the regular stipend.
The choice between a fixed sum or a one-time payment:

International students have the opportunity to receive scholarships that pay the expenses related to Overseas Student Health Care (OSHC) and/or visa applications.
Starting January 1, 2024, there will be a significant nine percent rise in the regular stipend rate for graduate researchers at Macquarie University. The revised stipend rate will be established at $35,000 per year for individuals who are enrolled as full-time participants.
The scholarship for students pursuing the Bachelor of Philosophy program has a significant value of $5000 per session, which is distributed as a single payment. The purpose of this financial assistance is to mitigate the academic costs connected with the Bachelor of Philosophy degree.
Eligible Nationalities:
This award is available to students from any country, regardless of their nationality. (except Australia and New Zealand).
Requirements for eligibility:
1. Educational prerequisites:
Prospective candidates must fulfill the minimal academic criteria for admission to their preferred postgraduate research program. Typically, this requires the possession of a bachelor’s degree with first or upper second-class honors, or a master’s degree with a significant research component.
2. Proficiency in the English language:
Meeting the university’s English language standards is crucial. Starting on February 27, 2024, Macquarie University will accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as long as the test taker achieves a minimum score of 95. Applicants are required to exhibit a high level of English language skills to guarantee efficient communication and achieve academic excellence.
3. Research Alignment:
The study submitted by the candidate must be in line with Macquarie University’s research priorities and capabilities. An alignment between the research topic and the university’s strategic priority areas increases the chances of a successful scholarship application.
4. Students from other countries:
The scholarships generally focus on overseas students who are neither citizens of Australia or New Zealand, nor Australian permanent residents.
