Procurement Supervisor at Dangote Global Services Ltd
Key Responsibilities
Dangote Global Services Ltd will be in charge of finding and shipping spare parts and equipment from different international suppliers to factories in different parts of Africa.
The procurement supervisor will make sure that all items are found, prepared, shipped, and received on time and in accordance with company policy. Serves as a link between workers and management and gives updates on activities and problems with sourcing and shipping.
Jobs to be done
- Product job costing and control of input costs.
- Think about where to get the goods and how to ship them (Ex- factory, Fob, inland transport, handling packing etc.)
- Send out PFI invoices and shipping documents and keep track of FX losses.
- Manage the shipping and delivery of documents on time. Make sure the goods arrive safely.
- Check the bills from the supplier and the freight forwarder before paying them.
- Set up additional procedures to improve communication and controls to improve cost control.
- Manage the team and teach the other members how to follow the rules.
- Work with the Finance Team to make sure that monthly accounts between companies are settled and that freight forwarders are paid.
- Help factories, suppliers, and freight forwarders with their questions.
- Every order is handled by hand, so you need to manage them well.
- Manage Order files and documents that go with them.
- Lastly, Find materials, equipment, and spare parts all over the world for distribution to business units and locations in Pan-Africa.
Requirements \sExperience
- At least 10 years of experience, with 3 or more years in a shipping management or supervisory role.
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Engineering, Logistics, Accounting, or any other related field.
- In-depth technical knowledge of shipping and/or logistics procedures
- Experience in buying things and sending them to Nigeria is a big plus.
- A key requirement is an ability to find spare parts all over the world and ship packages by air and sea.
- Good skills in analyzing and predicting finances
- Hands-on experience buying and shipping equipment and spare parts
Skills and knowledge
- Good at getting things done and being in charge.
- Strong attention to detail, since each order needs to be looked at and handled separately.
- Good people skills and the ability to negotiate
- Strong skills for working as a team and with others
- Have good judgment and the ability to make decisions
- Skilled at using Microsoft programs and other computer software, such as spreadsheets and databases.
- High standards of ethics and honesty
- Ability to work on your own with little supervision
- Outstanding organisational and multi-tasking skills.
