Job Title: Financial Reporting Manager

Helios Towers is a leading independent company for telecommunications infrastructure. It has built up one of Africa’s largest portfolios of towers. It builds, owns, and runs telecom passive infrastructure, which mobile network operators use to get services. Helios Towers is currently doing business in 8 African markets and Oman in the Middle East.

We want a Financial Reporting Manager with a lot of energy to join the Ghana Team. This person will be in charge of putting together, analyzing, and presenting a set of accurate and timely financial reports in line with the organization’s policies and best practices. He or she will put together, manage, and coordinate the flow of information within the department to make sure that monthly management reports are done according to the internal process and on time.

The person will also be in charge of a full review of the company’s monthly, quarterly, annual, and other ad hoc performance reports. She or he will help the business make business cases, analyses, budgets, and forecasts. She or he will also make sure that the right budgetary controls are put in place.

Role Responsibilities

You will have to do the following as a Financial Reporting Manager:

  • Assist and delegate for the Finance Director, and help manage the finance team to reach the goals of the department.
  • Then, Manage the overall financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting, including preparation and communication for all management financial reporting.
  • Collects, manages, and coordinates the flow of information within the department to make sure that monthly management reports are done according to the department’s process and the timetable set by HQ.
  • Also, Responsible for putting together a full set of monthly management accounts for the company, with a focus on Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc. Sheet of accounts
  • Controlling and writing down fixed assets
  • Keeping track of stock
  • Moreover, Accounts between and within companies need to be processed and balanced.
  • Analysis of the project, making sure that monthly, quarterly, and yearly changes are fully explained and backed up with relevant data for all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Coordinate the local finance team and work with the CBO to make sure that the monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet is done correctly and is always ready for an internal or external review.
  • Manage and support the company’s interactions with both internal and external stakeholders, such as
    • Internal auditors.
    • External auditors
    • External consultants
  • Do an analysis of the actual vs. budget, pointing out any possible deviations to management well in advance.
  • Propose and lead projects to improve finances, making suggestions for training, programs to improve performance, etc.
  • Take on any other tasks that the Finance Director gives you.

Requirements for the Role

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting that is relevant
  • Qualified accountant with a recognized accounting body or relevant finance professional qualification
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Experience working in a large or publicly traded company.
  • Membership in the Accounting Profession
  • Accounting is about corporate governance.
