JOB DESCRIPTION:
PQM is currently in its third year of perpetration in Ghana and is looking for an adviser, grounded within the ECOWAS region, to lead a study to evaluate the challenges clinicians presently face in the usage of choosing Motherly and child fitness items with an emphasis on uterotonics.
They have a look at what could be carried out in named fitness installations in eight hospitals in the north of Ghana ( regions yet to be decided). S/ he’ll work with statistics collection advisers to collect and dissect information accrued from those installations below the guidance of the Senior Program Manager for West Africa and in collaboration with a specialized group of workers at USP headquarters in Rockville, MD. The period of performance for this consultancy will begin in MAY 2022 and run through September 2022.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Design a study protocol
- Deliver education and assistance to data collection consultants responsible for various regions.
- Supervise records collection consultants and analyze this in line with study objectives
- Assess and validate secondary statistics collected.
- Visit selected health facilities and other relevant stakeholders as required by the study protocol
Deliverables
- Take a look at the protocol and records series gear
- Review monthly progress
- Final evaluation of information, use, storehouse, and effectiveness of uterotonics with the aid of healthcare assistance in named sections in the north of Ghana.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Master’s degree in Public Health
- A degree in Medicine is will be an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years practice public health in LMICs
- Experience in working with Ghana health services or other health services within the ECOWAS region.
- Experience in designing and leading studies related to the use of maternal and child health commodities such as Oxytocin injection, Ergometrine injection, and Misoprostol tablets.
- Experience working in rural and remote communities
Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities:
- Capability to work alone and to correctly liaise with relevant groups, inclusive of authorities and non-government stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to details
- Must have a good command of the English Language, written and great presentation skills
- High level of integrity and commitment to quality.
- Functionality to tour inside Ghana.
