POSITION: Programme Officer
The European Commission’s (EC) Civil Society Capacity Building project aims to improve civil society organizations’ (CSOs) governance, accountability, and engagement in public affairs. The Programme Officer will be responsible for the overall delivery of the EC Civil Society Capacity Building programme, including managing its design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and coordinating the activities of the implementation partners.
Responsibilities
- Programme delivery; assisting the Senior Programme Manager in managing all areas of the program lifecycle with implementation partners, from planning to closing out. Implementing the partners’ activities in accordance with programme rules and donor requirements.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and learning; assuring the ethical use of MEL methodologies within an adaptive framework, such as learning logs, actionable learning groups, data collection tools, and performance data analysis and dissemination.
- Identifying appropriate partnerships for Sightsavers to collaborate with and campaign for women with disabilities in civil society to have equal rights and opportunities in that society. Capacity building to guarantee that civil society organisations (CSOs) can extend their approach beyond the scope of the programme.
- Developing partnerships with women’s rights NGOs in order to acquire secondments with implementation partners and establish a long-term pipeline of civil society organisations.
- Budget creation, tracking, and forecasting support finance and resource management. Assisting partners in developing budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditure, providing technical help, and timely filing of partner financial reports.
- Information and communication management entails providing high-quality information to assist relevant fundraising operations as well as sharing important information with internal stakeholders to meet donor reporting obligations.

Skill and Experience
- Proven job experience in disability inclusion, gender equality, or women’s rights projects.
An advocate for women’s rights within civil society organizations, ideally as a Programme Officer. - A track record of collaborating with civil society organisations to ensure the successful implementation of projects that improve and sustain opportunities for women with disabilities.
- Knowledge of national legislation and policies addressing disability, gender, human rights, and climate change.
- Significant experience administering programs, preferably within the disability sector and gender
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Current and continuous right to labour in Ghana.
